Anyone on here bought an xe yet or considering one? Looking to get something new in the new year and I keep getting drawn to these.
>>
Was tempted by one, however i ended up going in a completely different direction as all my friends and senpai said 'old mans car'
>>
>>14092239
What did you get in the end?
>>
>>14092244
A5 Coupe spec ed

Not a fan of itas i was an idiot and purchased without test driving it.

Hate the gear ratios.
Hate the driving position
Hate the minor scratches on front and back bumper (I Didnt even see tham when i brought it)
HATE! The MPG

Love the lack of room in the back seats
Love boot size
Love the look
Love the rims
Love the fact i got a £19k for £15k

>>
>>14092262

I've currently got an a4 so I've been thinking about moving up to an a5 or a6. Too many of them are diesels though, everytime I see a nicely specced model it's always the 2.0 tdi. I might go full retard and get an rs model. Also nice festive captcha
>>
>>14092267
That doesn't matter when you're paying for something you don't like driving.
>>
>>14092219
I'm choosing between this or the Giulia, I'm waiting to see the "normal" version of the Alfa
>>
>>14092274
I have the 2.0tdi one.
No satnav however just the multimedia display screen thing.

I was extremely tempted by an S5 however insurance was a killer at £4500 been the cheapest quote. Ended up paying £1700 for my 2.0tdi

The 2.7tdi and 3.0tdi were 3k to insure

Didnt even look at petrol models as im an idiot thing they'd be shit MPG however they seem to be better than mine on there tech spec sheets

2.0tdi spec ed quattro s line i get :
Motorways 32MPG
Round town 28MPG
Driving super eco round town 30MPG
Super eco motorway 41MPG is the most i could pull off.

Tech spec sheet states :
Motorways : 55mpg
City roads: 35mpg

They look very good in the flesh, and the press seem to prefer them to the 3er. I'd personally be inclined to wait for the sportbrake, though.
>>
>>14092295
I'm an old bastard now. Insurance is only about £400 a year and that's for a cabriolet and not garaged so I'm not to bothered about insurance, I can remember when I was 21 paying 1400 for insurance on a calibra.
>>
>>14092308
I like the sportbrake bit don't need the extra space. I've never been into bmw since the mid 2000s, I think they've lost it design and build wise.
>>
>>14092317
For a fucking Calibra? Really? I'm 20 and I've written a car off, and I'm still paying less than that for an MR2.
>>
>>14092331
Yeah. The early noughties were unbelievable for insurance quotes, bear in mind that was 3rd party fire and theft not fully comp. I got quoted 12 fucking grand once for an e30 cabriolet when I was 20. Nah senpai, think I'll just risk it desu.
>>
>>14092348
Geez, and I thought today's prices were mental.
>>
>>14092363
That's why there used to be so many fucking saxos on the road, Citroën did free insurance for the first year or two when you bought a new one. So many people my age at the time did because it usually worked out cheaper to pay a deposit and make payments on a car than buy a shit box and try to insure it.
>>
>>14092317
My first years insurance at 17 was £600 on a 1.5dci megane (And a few other cars due to changing them)
Second year was £800 on a clk 270 auto

now i have to pay over the end due to having 2 claims (Bastards stole my Citroen c4)

same reason there are so many of these
£99 a month + £99 down + 1 years free insurance

£1300 for the first year with insurance, bear in mind most 17-20 year olds pay £2.5k for first year on old shit boxes like kia picantos and chevy matiz
>>
>>14092442
My old flat mate used to work for Norwich union years ago, he showed me the programme they used to calculate the quotes. It was pretty long and complicated, he said most advisors pulled a quote out of thin air for young drivers as they knew it wasn't worth their time working it out. There should be a cap on insurance.
>>
>>14092219
Waiting for the coupe version. I'm happy with my current jag. I have a neverending list of jaguars that I want already.
>>
>>14092456
Yeah there's a fuck ton of corsa's out there, you can always hear them in traffic due to the timing chain rattle when some chav would rather fit pointless shit than change the oil regularly

Why

>It came with 1 years RAC warranty

You know those free warrantys often come with a £1000 excess making them fucking useless unless something truly bad happens.
>>
>>14092376
>saxo

Three people from my school year died driving those, if you roll over the roof just caves in. Fuck those cars.
>>
>>14092557
£0 excess
Covers labour upto £200/hr
Covers parts upto 50% of the value of the car

I just wish the v6 had a manual option

95 Vanden Plas.
I want an XE Portfolio, a MK X, a MKII, an XJL Portfolio, an X308 Super V8, a slammed S type, and an F type R
>>
>>14092456
That's a bit of ab exaggeration, surely - I got my old Puma down to £900, although that was at 18.
>>
>>14092896
That would be a nice collection.
