>>
>>14086133
It's a 7500 car, assembled, with less rust.

With several rust holes like that, it's worth 4-5, disassembled, it's worth 2500.

It isn't a 70 Chevelle, dry, original paint, "driver" '72 442s are worth less than 20, unless they are minty as fuck.

Rotted parts piles are worth parts prices.

Pardon my ignorance on CL lingo, but what are ticketriders and tire kickers?
>>

Joyriders and hagglers

They're basically saying that even though their car is an overpriced piece of shit, you can't call them on it
>>
>>14086974
Why can't they just tell their wives to fuck off if it ain't a financial burden on the household?
>>

ticketriders are people who want to test drive the car before they buy it.
tire kickers are people who insist on looking at the car thoroughly before handing over the money.

We're just tired of seeing jackasses trying to hawk non running parts piles for 10-20k
Example from my local CL:
>1965 chevy impala
>barnfind
>absolutely covered in dirt/dust/grime
>you can tell it hasn't moved in well over a decade
>can barely see the paint through the filth but color under the hood is not the same as the rest of the car, so its a respray
>no pics of the interior but assume its faded, worn out, and filthy, just like the exterior
>$16.5k I know what I got etc etc
NDAA on those cars is only $13k ish for one in rough shape that runs and drives.
It'll be a sharp car but first you'd have to rebuild/replace the drive train, new tires, probably new wheels and a handful of other things I'm forgetting (assuming it was in immaculate condition when it went into the barn 20 years ago), and a new coat of paint, but thats well over 10 grand in work, after I've already spent 16.5 on the shell of the car. Naw man.
>>
>>14086759
>everyone is taking this bait
>>
>>14088395
No matter what's being sold, there will always be some jackass who thinks it's worth more than what it realistically is. This is because of ignorance.
>car is dirty
>needs new paint
This is another example of ignorance. If you look at a vehicle and automatically assume it needs thousands of dollars of work and parts when you obviously don't know what you are talking about, then you are no better than the owner with an unreasonable price.

It's not. It's a Pulsar SSS. They're a dime a dozen in this country (Australia). I can pick one up right now for $1,500.

He wants a GTS-T Skyline, but not just that - an R32, which is generally more expensive than an R33 because of the non-turbo P-plater stigma the R33 carries here, they're in the ballpark of $5-6k unregistered.

Haha fuck no. I see Civics with K series swaps go for 3k or less on CL. California smog legal too. That's more attune of the Evo and Impreza owners.

More-or-less Boomer rage:

My brother in laws gramps has a Simson Schwalbe (50cc GDR scooter that can go 60kph due to GDR regulations that carried over to Germany after reunification) rotting away in his barn.

Hasn't been moved in over 10 years, all of the rubber/plastic lines would have to be replaced, tank derusted, basically everything except for the seat would have to be done first to make it a proper little Simson again.

All not that much of a problem and I think the old man would not mind selling it to me, but

His dumb ass daughter/my brother in laws mother thinks it's a "rare" and "expensive" bike that should go for €1000 minimum (when that's the asking price for a well-in-shape one on a lucky day)

I really want it as a project bike since it looks like a fun thing to tinker on, but any attempt at buying it is blocked by her because she "wants to make sure it gets sold at a proper price"

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Not boomer related, but CL anyway

>Have E46 320 coupe with no brakes at all
>Listed for £400
>People phoning me up offering literally £50
>One guy has come to see it in 3 weeks
>Offered £75, walked away when I said £200

Am I being unreasonable? I could get £100 in scrap but I'd rather see it back on the road eventually
>>
This is just greed. People who are willing to pay for restoration/have the funds and knowledge to do it themselves are going to pay any price for a car to restore. Instead of selling their scrap for what its worth, they are jewing people who love the car as much as them for as much money as possible.
>>
>>14100482
its cool but not 35000 dollars cool. would take at least that much money to restore it as well probably.

Same, everyone in my family says that I should sell the corvette since its a money pit and it will never run right and I could get a nice reliable car with the money (they aren't wrong)

Never going to though.

Just remember when your wife tells you to get rid of the car, that the car never told you to get rid of the wife.
>>
>>14100571
Market price seems to be between 75 and 50, so it seems unreasonable pricing it 5 times as much
