I you could also have something as simple as a weak or intermittent spark, or clogged fuel injector/line, anything that could possibly not make all the cylenders not equally combust.

I estimate only about 1200 at most still on US roads with most of thise having either a red block or LS swap with all good examples with lottle rust being here in texas, new mexico, or so cal, at least from what a search tempest shows me.

if the engine runs smoothly it could be a damaged flywheel or crankshaft pulley, also check your ignition timing and spark plugs
