I'm one step from buying this car - should I go for it?
>1,1 - 60hp
>equivelent of $600
>1990
>good condition
>literally identical to pic rel
youre just using it to cruise around town right?
That's one hot bitch
The 205 was a great design
>>14068768
90% yeah
It's cool as hell. It's so small and light it handles great and is rather fast around corners.
Just get some rally decals and wider tires then you're ready to go!
Le oui
>You will never own a decent 205 GTi 1.9
why live
>>14068786
don't listen to this pleb
>>14068820
they're not even expensive, get a fucking job
>>14068838
Key word: decent
The body and paint looks really good and that's the only important part when buying a cheap car. The rest can be fixed.
>>14068762
>literally identical to pic rel
Isn't it a bit small and flat for a car?
Pardon my autism. Get it, it's a good car.
OP Here
thanks guys, so I'm gonna get it I guess, although I have a motorcycle already for "fun", but just need some car to drive some people around town and me when it's raining or it's winter
>>14068855
spending 10x more than it's worth restomodding it is the fun part
>>14068887
eh I suppose you're right
>>14068879
You could do a lot worse. The 205 is a lot of fun, even if it's just a little FF ecobox.
>>14068879
What's your budget, I'd love to have a look at what else can be bought
>>14068762
>1,1
Don't know how heavy 205 are but I remember older boxy 1.2 Clio consumed over 11l/km because it was fucking heavy (almost a tonne despite being such a tiny car) and 1.6 are much more fuel friendly.
Just because it's a tiny engine, don't expect a superb mileage (also it's a pretty old car).
>>14068910
It's got a kerb weight of under 800kg, that's even less than a Twingo. Should be alright.
>>14068895
i just have this strange feel that since I have a motorcycle maybe I should buy some more practical (bigger), although I don't need a big car
>>14068900
$600 - yuropoor here
get the 1.4 as a minimum
>>14068926
either get a car that can transport your bike, or don't.
decision is up to you.
>>14068970
>being this american
>>14068973
how in the fuck is that american you dolt?
even japs put their 1000cc monstrosities in their tiny kei cars to transport them
>>14068997
If a kei car works, then a 205 will do just fine.
>>14068970
>>14068973
guys you're not helping in making a decision
>>14068997
I wonder how he's got this far through life without carrying his bike around with him everywhere he goes?
>>14069017
I've personally done it by not living in a shit hole that's ill-equipped to actually deal with automobiles.
>>14068762
Ahh.
Well, it'll be shit tbqh bambam.
That's not a bad thing. My first car was shit and I loved it.
But it'll be basic inside, probably leak, have a manual choke, be noisy and uncomfortable.
If you just want a starter car, think about the Korean or less popular Japanese brands. You'll probably get a better car for your money.
>>14068762
>1.1
>60hp
How do yuropoors do it? I can't drive anything under 300 hp
>>14069057
>I can't drive anything under 300hp.
Yeah because your fatass necessitates the the extra power, a normal human being can get by just fine with 60hp.
>>14069057
Easy, make the little shits weigh no more than 850kg/1800lbs. Super fun to throw around.
>>14069057
I'm a yuropeen and I doubt I'd get anything less than 200bhp now.
feel free to share your opinions :3
>>14069057
>>14069131
You gotta keep in mind that we come into this from the perspective of people who, to a greater or lesser extent, like to drive fast. If you're like most of the population and don't really give a toss, only see cars as transportation and rarely exceed, say, 80mph, then a generic 90bhp 1.4 eurobox will do the job fine.
>>14069065
I used to be like that until I moved to the city.
I never even use wot anymore.
Its just traffic lights, pedestrians, speed cameras, idiots that cant drive, cyclists.
I never really realised how much I enjoyed driving until I couldn't do it anymore.
>>14068887
>spending 10x more than it's worth
That's such a bullshit thing. If you do any decent mileage in it you'll spend about as much as it's worth in fuel every year.
one last bumpo before going to sleep :3
i'll read in the morning anons
I am the night bump
>>14068762
ive owned 2 1.9 gti models over the years. Great little hot hatch. Parts can be hard to find/expensive depending where you live in the world but overall was worth it. t16 is where its at tho.
>>14070898
wow, thank you kind sir :3
