Hey /o/, should I get a toyota supra? The car is in good shape and all but I've never driven right hand drive before. Is it gonna be a pain in the ass? Or should I go for it?
>>
Rhd is not a big difference. The windshield wipers may be opposite but if it's stick the pattern is the same and not difficult to switch to.
>>
>>14044410
I mean if you have the cash to do it, and its a turbo, and want it... Then why not?
>>
>>14044410
It's a good investment. Don't go in expecting to gain money but you sure as hell won't lose money when you sell it. As long as you're in the US

do it
>>
>>14044731
Buying a car is never an investment.
>>
>>14044795
Yeah but there will always be someone who will pay out the ass for a clean turbo supra. I guess "minimal depreciation" is a better term than investment.
>>
>>14044731
This.
>>
Like anyone in /o/ could afford a beat to fuck supra anyways...
>>
>>14045175
aussies, nz's and canadians can get pretty reasonably priced mk4's

This is the go to response for retards who came here expecting a circlejerk about a car and didn't get one
>>
>>14044410
It really depends op. For the money you can buy something newer that will put down power just as well.
I never really cared for the supra. the price tag and what you got out of it stock never really equaled them self out.
And most mods are fucking pricey. And your wallet is kinda fucked if you break the fucking thing. Your money though do what you want

Except for when it consistently is. I'm planning on this very thing by buying a clean, original S13 and keeping it so. Betting in 10 years it'll be worth noticeably more than what i paid for it.

>>14045175
Pic related.

You owe me a ten-second car.

I own a MKIV and I know there is at least 2 other guys here who own them

>>14045282
This guy is kind of right, there are better cars out there for the money you would spend on a clean turbo MKIV, but if you love Supra's I would say definitely go for it, I've owned 2 so far and never regretted it

>>14045317
fuck those SZ's are getting cheaper and cheaper, it used to hard finding an auto SZ for anything less than 10k
>>
>>14046115
Yep, only downsize is RZ have pretty much plateau'd in price at $15k for shit ones ones and $20-25k for gud ones.
Still an order of magnitude better than what the burgers get, though.

You soop, tell me if you think this is worth the effort:

Would keep it NA
>>
>>14046115
your car is hands down one of the nicest ones on this board.
>>
>>14046299
Actually nevermind, 95 SZ-R didn't get the 6-speed.
>>
>>14046115
You live in KC?

I think I may of seen your car
>>
>>14046299
Is NA definitely what your after? Because nearly everyone who buys an NA ends up craving a turbo sooner or later, I did the same thing lol

Steering wheel looks like it needs changing, but being a series 1 it wont have airbags so you can chuck an aftermarket one on, the body and the rest of the interior actually doesn't look too bad for its age

The price seems appropriate, but he doesn't have many pictures to go off though, and its coming up to 200k kms so it would have been due for a timing belt but he mentions its already been done which will save you a bit if he has the receipts for it.

I would still have the engine checked out before you buy it, even if it has been looked after the're old cars and get the usual wear and tear problems

Also have you looked into insurance costs? I think I was paying around 1.4k for fully comp with my old NA while I was on my P's, and that was registered under my dads name.
>>
>>14046346
if your gonna keep it NA anyway the w58 would be fine, I'd only consider paying the extra for the v160 if you plan on going turbo down the track

as others have said, u won't gain or lose money.

and it's a fucking fun car m8, get one.
>>
RHD is no problem.
But take a turbo, no NA.

I already have a set of glass headlights retrofitted with projectors, they wont be going on until after Christmas though.

And I do buff and polish my lights everynow and then, but they just fog back up overtime
>>
>>14046799
Nice, how much did those set you back?
Keep the supra shiny and in 10 years it'll be worth a decent amount.

driving an RHD on the right is fine. You have to be a little more careful passing or left turning sometimes, and you might accidentally turn on your wipers when you mean to signal. It's fine, i've been doing it for a while and it's a slight annoyance at worst.
