I'd suggest just hooning 29 back and forth all day. Berryessa-Knoxville Road is just looking for trouble; most of it's one-lane with blind corners and people go booking down it. Crashes are bad press regardless of if they're your fault or someone else's. Howell Mountain Road is another good one in the area. The whole Pope Valley/Angwin area is quite pleasant but mostly open cruising, less twisty mountains.

Honestly, it's worth it for 29. Apparently the traffic is a lot worse now than a few years ago when it was new, though. If you're making a loop in the area, 175 or Howell Mountain make a lot more sense. Berryessa-Knoxville isn't a touge but is genuinely dangerous. Some local in an SUV is going to plow into you head on at 60 miles an hour and there will be a massive shitposting extravaganza about how it was all your fault.

Just a heads up to anyone on the fence about coming, there was one accident and another very near miss at the last meet. The core group of attendees seems to think this is pretty funny and not a reason for concern. I'd give some thought as to whether you want to drive near them.

I'd also note that attendees were fairly normal at the first few meets, but that's not really the case anymore as there has been a larger population of meme-spouters and autists.

Hopefully this helps give you a better picture of what you are in for. I'd avoid these meets, not worth it.

Vehicle code 21461 - it involves a little legal gymnastics but in essence you must fully exit the freeway before re-entering it. The off ramp and adjacent intersection are still technically part of the freeway. You would need to go out onto the road, make a legal turn somewhere then re-enter.

People pull this shit all the time on both sides of that intersection and really fuck it up for anyone that really wants to exit.

Checked. My 2nd gear dog is rounded so I basically have no 2nd gear... I'm going to buy a new motor before I do any of the suspension upgrades even though stock is awful. The Z1000 is incredibly fun compared to all of the sport bikes I've ridden and I got it for $1,100. Of course it was that price because of the 2nd gear which just started shitting out when I got it.

I do love the car but if I had to choose again I'd maybe get a wrx for a few reasons:

What I love
Awesome handling - you stay in control almost no matter how hard you push it
Great looks
Low position and center of gravity
All the luxuries - semi leather seats, GPS, push button start, auto temp

Things I hate:
Underpowered engine - my old Volvo c30 only had 30 more hp but boy do I miss the extra oomph it gave. I've tried a 270hp turboed brz and that was awesome. It needs just a bit extra to feel fast. The WRX feels just right despite being heavier.
Ride - not going to lie, it isn't the smoothest and while I'm ok with it most of the bumps, shakes and rattles it does get old I'd you are using it as a commuter - depends on the road you use tho.
Rattles, chirps, clings and other sounds - they say that if your Subaru doesn't have a rattle you need to take it to the dealership and have one installed. These mysterious they are right in afraid. You get rattles popping up all the time and it's infuriating, like whack a mole but with annoying sounds. The fuel pump chirps like a motherfucker when idling because of the California fuel blend - admitting I'd you drive with windows down and spend time in traffic. The gearbox makes metallic noise when shifting sometimes too so all in all if you have audio ocd look elsewhere.
Seats - yeah its a 2 seater, 3 in a pinch unless you are shipping double amputees or 5 year olds.

For the east coast - if you are in a snowy area definitely consider the wrx. Price wise if you are willing to sacrifice leather, a push button start and GPS you are looking at 1k or so difference.
