What is /o/'s opinion on C4 corvettes?

They are pretty affordable in my area, I'd appreciate any input.

There's a reason you can get one for 2 grand

Though they're my favorite corvette despite GM being the worst company

They're on the sticky for a reason.
That said, automatics are everywhere, but shit to drive, and the manuals weren't much better until 1989. Try to find a 1989-1996 manual C4. In 1989, they ditched the 4+1 manual for a good 6 speed manual.
>>
They're good cars for the money, but they're starting to creep up in price. You can almost buy a C5 for the price of a decent C4, but maintaining and modding the C4 will be cheaper.

I was gonna get a C4 but I found a C3 for pennies.

I initially wanted a C4 because I liked the Running In The 90's retro style, so I did lots of research.

1984 is a shitbox. Don't bother. Ever.
For that matter, 85, 86 are also shitboxes. Supposedly GM got the kinks out by 1987, but I wouldn't bother getting anything that wasn't a 91+ LT1.

Everyone I had ever met thought the C4 is a dumbfuck redneck car, but in reality they just automatically think of the 80's TPI ones. The LT1s look so much better and perform better as well.

>>14014155
These are the LT1s I'm talking about.

Wouldn't >>14014155 have an LT5?
>>
If it's the Crossfire Injected ones, drop it immediately.

LT5 was 1990-1995. Some time after the 1990 ZR1 was released, all corvettes got the ZR1 rear end with the square tail lights.
>dat twin cam V8 though
>>
>>14014716
The one in the image above has ZR-1 badging.
>>

I wish though. C4s are astronomically expensive in this country. 25k will get you an okay 80s model.

Oh you want a 90s one? 45k for the average ones. Last time I saw a ZR-1 for sale it was 70k...

Even Trans Am are starting to go up in price now.
>>
>>14014155
>no '89 manuals in my area
I want the 80's styling, but manuals are hard as hell to find period. It's either a solitary black '88 manual or a 90's manual without the rad 80's stylings.
>>
>>14014841
Didn't the C4s win the showroom stock racing so much that they were banned to give the other competitors a chance?

I'd probably consider getting one if you could find one with a 6-speed for a decent price where I live.
>>
>>14014133
1989 or newer are just a blast to drive. The interior are probably cracked or going to and the electronics in some of the dashes are finicky. I love corvettes tho so i would buy one that looks well maintained. Also easier and cheaper to mod and fix then most cars.
>>
Are these the ones where you could inflate the side support on the seats? :3 My dad had one of those when I was a kid. zr1...
>>
>>14014672
Crossfire is interesttin, but that's it.
There is a reason GM abandoned that technolo. All existing examples are a shit.
