I don't know about the best ever but it's relatively cheap and easy to mod. Early LS engines were god tier in their day so they built a reputation for making good power and destroying the competition. Plus you shove an LS into literally anything and make it better.

Or you could spend 3 or 4 grand turboing the thing and go super fast. Stock F20C blocks have gone 700whp. Unless you just hate turbos or want the mad street credz there is no reason to swap the F20C. I've even seen some decently high n/a hp builds for the F20C, in the mid 300whp. I saw one build for a Civic drag car who had over 400whp with a 2.7l stroker kit and revved to like 10k. I'm pretty sure he rebuilt it evey race though. An LS can still make more power n/a anyways, I just thought that was cool.

I agree with you, but this argument doesn't make much sense to me. People say this about swapped S2000s, S chassis, Rx7s etc but those chassis are probably better than a C5/C6 Corvette. I understand why LS swap people want those chassis, but from a power/price standpoint you would be better off with stock engine usually. Not saying people shouldn't do it, it's their car, but these people just act like an LS is the only way to make power from those cars when it's not.

I think the reason why is most people who do LS swaps start with the idea of doing an LS swap and finding a chassis, rather than having a car and deciding to put an LS for power.

The ultimate S2000 engine would be a Honda Indy V8. 10k rpm, 3.5l, 650hp n/a, all aluminum engine. Or maybe the HSV V8. 500hp+ n/a, redline was never disclosed as far as I know. It must be similarly high.
