Anything else i should consider? I'm looking for a 4 door sedan with AWD + enough hp to make DD it fun.
As i live in Canada this will be my DD for the winter so that's why I'm getting something AWD.
Not related, but i currently DD a 2jz mark 3 supra and a 1990 celica gts.
Thanks for your time

These rims/red plus the black car+black leather interior should look quite snazzy hopefully.

This is just your preference.

STI has better performance. But, will cost more initially.
Both are probably similar to maintain, cost wise, depending on if you're replacing STI specific parts.

Personally I'd get the BMW, but that's because I like BMWs and performance in my DD is meaningless to me.

From my research the 330xi never came with LSD's. which is my main concern with the BMW. From a cost perspective the BMW will cost around $8000-$11000. The STI 10,000-17,000 depending on Mods/miles.
But to maintain i think they'll be right around the same at $4500 a year or so.

After looking into the BMW's Diff's iv found you can put in a 3.64 Bmw diff that is a direct swap into the 330XI for around $2000 Canadian loonies.
PROS of the STI
Power 300hp or so
LSD front and back
Comfy
Cons
17 city and 23 highway
BMW PROS
Comfy
Bmw traction control can be turned off easy
18 city 27 highway
cons
240hp
Its a BMW

You probably won't find a used STI that hasn't been beat to shit, but if you can than that's what I would go with.
>>
>>14011014
I'd like to hope if someone was beating on a STI they crashed it right away.

I've been considering a 335i myself, but mostly scared to death of wastegate rattle issues, for which the only BMW approved solution seems to be to replace the turbos (or live with it).
>>
>>14010939
xdrive is better suited for ripping skids than subies or audi quattros because of the way the systems work

BMW

Thank you. Looks like ill be going with the BMW. Any links to what exactly you're talking about?

this link might help
http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?1144199-Audi-quattro-v-BMW-x-drive
bmw xdrive handles better on dry roads becaude the system isnt permanently locking the torque, it is made to fight understeer and xdrive is a smart system that can even send 100% of the power only to the rear wheels just like the GTR R35 which isn't possible on quattro and other awd systems
>>
>>14010665
if only you got the gt four

that way you wouldn't need to get another car
