The Crew is like Euro Truck Sim, in which all the fun is in the journey. It's really fun just to pick a spot and challenge a group of players to get there. The graphics, music, and physics combine to create that critical comfy driving feel. With the new weather and lighting changes, it could be even higher on the comfy scale than ETS, but if you're like me, the nonfunctional rear-views will break your immersion.

Unlike ETS, where the whole point of driving is just to deliver things, The Crew doesn't really give you any reason to go from one end of the map to the other, other than that it's just fun. You get paid along the way for doing stunts and hooning, which means by the time you get to one end of the country, you've got enough money for a new car, and if you hit the freedrive challenges on the way, your machine will be faster than it was when you started. Driving with a group multiplies your stunt bonuses, so a 4-car raid will easily net you 100k.

The story is absolutely ridiculous, the story missions are clearly meant for 4 players to grind through, and the game is best played with the Japanese audio track and English subs because the English voice acting and horrible script will make you cringe so hard you'll crash.

The physics are decent and driving with other players is a blast, but the game tends to overcompensate with network prediction and has a shitty, console-style online system that sometimes forces players to completely reorganize their crew until a single player can join, much like an XBL party.

It also seems to limit the number of visible drivers to those currently in your instance, which creates an issue of the game seeming "dead" when a player with a misconfigured router tries to play. There ARE a large number of people online, but if they can't "see" you (because of bad NAT settings or whatev), then you can't see them.

Decision rationale: Unmoon had a clear passing opportunity, but ballsed it up by clipping the wall and then braking in the middle of a corner where one is either maintaining a high speed or accelerating. The only way Lancer was going to avoid bumping unmoon's rear was if he got completely out of the throttle the moment moon clipped the wall and began slowing. All stewards agreed that it was simply a racing incident.
