Fuck bros. Got a P0638 just now on my Golf Throttle body replacement

Front spring perch rusted off on my E-class.
Other one has to be replaced too.

Gonna set me back 800 euro.

Try cleaning the throttle body first. Does the car drive fine?

Try checking the connections and earths and then try cleaning the throttle butterfly if all the electrical connections look OK. Don't be a parts swapper

Except for that as soon as I press the throttle, the EPC light comes on and I can't accelerate past 1500RPM.
Neither do I have the tools to even fix this

You have a diesel don't you? You can get away with limping to a shop to buy a basic socket set and a few pairs of pliers.

Dealer or vag com can do a tb alignment. Can also hold down. The throttle and start the car for some models, Google that shit.

Replacing the tb is dead simple, find a good refurbished or tested used one. Chinese knock off vag com cables are okay in a pinch.

try hitting it lightly with a small hammer. I got a throttle body on a G35x outputting it's normal resistance ohms by doing just that.

I replaced it for reliability purposes but i was able to atleast get it to start and drive it until I put on the new one.

replacing a tb requires an idle re-learn after wards. or else the engine will have spuratic idle rpms
