Parts get more universal and its easier for workshops to stock up on them

Mechanics will be more experienced with that type of engine

Over the years you'll get more data on that particular engine, and quicker/more precise development can be made on it

The only positive thing in this is that the new engines are said to have roller bearing camshafts, which is a pretty cool detail. Also the fact that the turbos are not casted into one with manifolds is a positive thing when considering maintenance costs. I would still prefer a port injected T5 with a Mitsubishi turbo.
