Ive never built anything but i have replaced the cooling system in my truck, timing belt, and have done all the maintenance needed.

Id like rebuild a 350 or a rotary though. Maybe a Toyota I4 to make some okay power (200hp).

I haven't done it yet. Still have to mount the shifter and make new linkage.
It should be easy though. I have a t10 now, and the only difference is the rear mount.

You should try for a TKO so you can let me know how it fits.

how do you get this past emissions? 1998 was OBD2. Also note that it's federally illegal to swap an older engine into a newer car.
>>
>>13975722
hopefully around 200 with the egr and cat delete and glass packs I have
>>13975734
yeah, but if you're gonna go for nos you need to make sure the engine is bulletproof. what year is is?

I have yet rebuild a car engine from the ground up. But, I used to work at a machine shop that built race kart motors, so I've blueprinted and built countless 2 stroke engines.

I drove it daily and autocrossed it for 3 years & 40k miles. Saw plenty of snow. Only issue was a loss of oil pressure on track that led to motor rebuild. Picked up the X6M so that I could do more HPDE and not have to worry about breaking stuff.

>>13975806
I don't have the machining or welding capability to make anything worth making for my car.

For light-duty vehicles, installation of a light-duty eng~ne into a different light-duty vehicle by any
person would be considered tampering unless the resulting vehicle is identical (with regard to all
emission related parts, engine design parameters, and engine calibrations) to a certified configuration of
the same or newer model year as the vehicle chassis, or if there is a reasonable basis for knowing that
emissions are not adversely affected as described in Memo 1A. The appropriate source for technical
information regarding the certified configuration of a vehicle of a particular model year is the vehicle
manufacturer

>>
>>13975976
They don't and they never would. That's why cars are registered by state. It's pointless to even talk about.
>>
>>13975986
and, Michigan does not test for emissions
>>
>>13975976
Guess I never had to worry about it since my engine is from the 70's. I am however putting a 500hp LT1 into a 94 firebird and stripping the emission shit off it. What they don't know won't hurt them.

I can't do shit, and there is no easy way to turbo this motor. Even with cyclone/typhoon parts are hard to come by for a tarbo modification.
