Oh wait, you don't need to because the FRS exists. What's the point of an overgrown Miata if it's not even faster? What's with the puny engine and the pathetic horsepower? Even a base model corolla feels faster than it. What's the point of those backseats if no one about the age of 2 could even fit back there? You could say that it's more "practical" than a Miata but by God and all that is Holy, it simply does nothing well. It's too big, fat, and dull for a roadster and it's definitely not fast enough to be a sports car. It's not even an ideal grocery getter either.

I don't think it looks good, but it still looks happy to me. The face is pretty bad though, it would look way better with the NCs eyes. The grill is kind of off too, and the led strips look like gills. The rear and side of the car look so good but they fucked up the front. The NB will still remain the best looking Miata.

I see just as many Mustangs on the road as I do Camaros even though one of those cars must objectively perform better than the other. So why would anyone buy the worse performing of the two? Maybe because they just like the looks of it better and don't really give a shit about performance figures that don't mean anything in everyday driving. Just look at the AE86 and the same generation Mustang which is total shit while the AE86 besides being a ricer car is still fun to drive.

On the long run, in years time power does not matter, cars are getting more and more involving to drive and the NC MX5 and 86 are probably the final cars that were made for pure driver enjoyment.

I kind of agree with you OP. However, the FRS/BRZ are more practical than a miata. They are a bit bigger, bigger trunk, "four seats," and in my opinion, don't look like girl cars. They are more college oriented. I do think they should have an extra 30-50 hp, but if you drive it right (in the high rpm) you really won't complain. If you didn't know this, then you shouldn't be speaking.

I also like what they represent. A push to get back to the light weight, enthusiast oriented entry level track car. They are fun to drive, cheap to own, and still fast when you consider them being stock.

A 100+ hp difference doesn't justify ONLY a 4 second difference on Willow. Minor bolt ons would put them pretty even. But you are also not pricing similar classes so we may as well be comparing Prius to Monster Trucks here.
