You can increase displacement, increase stroke, replace the crank shaft, rods, pistons, increase compression, use higher octane fuel, make the best intake and exhaust and valve timing system in the world, add one turbo per cylinder, and it still wouldn't matter if it made a million HP, its the same design and technology as someone else's focus 1.8.

Toyota especially is really hard for federal emissions regulations/shit, and most modern toyotas ive been in or driven or read about idle around 2000 rpm for several seconds before idle speed drops. I'm not sure about the mechanics of it, but I beielve that the ECU uses coolant temp to regulate the idle speed at startup. You can modify the ECUs reading of coolant temp to get it to rev higher/lower if that's your thing.

I ride a motorcycle in NYC, I tend to lane split and what gets me most is when I see two parallel cars, usually fucking taxis. They see me approach them and they squeeze up like it's some sort of a game, and once I pass them, they are almost hitting the outer edges, why couldn't they do that when I was splitting?
