hey /o/,
this seems to be an appropriate place to ask, as I assume I'm not the first one with this idea.
so, basicly I want to fit a E3io pc into my car.
since the car doesn't have enough depth to fit it in, E3io pc comes in two parts -- pc to fit somewhere else, and a screen to mount in 2DIN slot.
but I want to fit it into 1DIN so I could have amp and audio processor controller in the second slot.
my idea is to get/fit/make a motorized flip-out display with 1080p and touchscreen in the top 1DIN slot.
anyone has any ideas?
I've been looking around and all I could find are multimedia receivers and such shit, but I don't need any of that
all I need is a 1080p flipout screen with touch.
why do you want that old thing in your car?
Android Auto and Apple Car Play exist now
Carputers are obsolete, though Windows 8/10 would have been great interfaces
Why not use an atom based system instead? Like the pipo x7s, you can easily fit it behind a double din. It's also more suitable for a car because it's passively cooled and uses less than 10w

What's a good captive touchscreen monitor that'll fit in a double DIN slot, have a decent resolution, and not cost as much as a tablet with a much better screen?

search the chinese site and find one
most of them are made in china anyway
http://www.aliexpress.com
i bet theres got to be one there.

Actually, why not use an Atom powered Windows tablet from China?
They're like $80 and would fit into a double DIN slot pretty well

that looks good, does it dim at night with the dash?

I would assume so, considering it was made for use in cars by Google. Probably switches to a dark theme as well

what purpose would it serve that a cell phone with bluetooth could not ?
seems unnecessary m8
Cellphones are pretty shit compared to computers

lol what
i guarantee a 6s is faster than my computer

Intel brought down their power usage faster than ARM made their chips more powerful.
iPhones don't have shit on Intel Atom powered phones like the Zenfone 2
>>13948908
i think a qualcomm 810 would rape my computer though.

Is your computer a potato clock?

how did you not even see the photo?

Core 2 Duo isn't that old, m8
Computer processors haven't really gotten any faster in over 5 years
>>13948948
but phones sure as fuck have. you do not change my mind at all
>>13948958
And they're still not as powerful as a decent X86 chip. However the x86 chips have gotten far more power efficient and as a result can now be used to power phones and tablets

>Computer processors haven't really gotten any faster in over 5 years
They have, and the Core 2 Duo he has in incredibly old. 2007.

>5% performance increase every year
Thanks Intel
