Do you boys think this bad boy is worth the extra $20,000 more than a regular 5.0 GT? I currently an '05 GT and have to upgrade.


I have enough to only have to finance $10,000-$20,000~ @ 0% APR if I buy a new 5.0 with the options I want ( $39,000~ ). A GT350 with the options I want is roughly $56,000. That's a fuck ton more. I'd have to save for another 12-18 months before I can afford that. I've never driven the GT350 but I will the second my dealer gets one in. I just want to hear some rough 3rd party opinion.

I don't think so. They won't appreciate a huge amount, and unless you have a shit ton of money to blow that's an important factor.

Regular GT and upgrades if you want the speed. will end up cheaper for similar performance.

I think absolutely not. The regular GT, with the performance suspension and seating options, is way better in terms of smiles-per-dollar. 435 hp is plenty to tear up the streets. And if you want to drop 55 grand on a car for the track, you're better off in a Cayman.

High RPM valvetrain failures in chevy motors are usually valve-float related, and involve piston-to-valve contact. Usually that ends in bent/thrown connecting rods.

In my country a new car has a fixed price only modified by the options you add, a dealer will not put anything extra but might go lower if you are smart, strictly speaking of average cars and not supercars of course, but basically if the manufacturer has a local website with a price displayed there that's what the dealers sell at

Dealers take "collectible cars" that people are really trying to get their hands on and raise the price because they know people are willing to pay. It's like scalping tickets.

Don't know how or why it's legal, but they do it all the time. Getting a hellcat at MSRP was damn near impossible for a long time.

Just buy the regular GT with performance pack, Brembos, and Recaros. Plenty of power, looks amazing, solid interior, and a huge aftermarket in case it's not fast enough. If you want an N/A V8 that makes 500+hp and a car that will rip up a track get a C6 Z06. Way lighter and you don't see them every single day.
