what's the cheapest car with double wishbone suspension? also how is it better than macphearson struts?
>>
man this concept design was a million times better. what happened mazda...
>>
>>13934787
No it wasn't. It looks like a fucking executives car. Doesn't look performance minded at all.
>>
literally a honda civic.
and it isn't, not inherently. a lot of other variables to consider.

go back to stance threads
go on

The design is too busy to fit with Kodo. Plus it looks like a fan render.
>>
>>13934938
What does a clean look, hexagon gril, carbon fiber wheels, and popup-throwback DRLs have to do with stancing?

You can stance a car with any body, you fucking retard.
>>
>>13934787
Fuck no! It looks like a Corvette mixed with the Genesis coupe.

My 2011 galant has a McPherson front suspension but hooked up to a shitty 4 speed auto there is a ralliart galant that makes 3.8l 260hp hooked up to a 5 speed auto with a even better McPherson suspension
I like mine so far even would recommend for a $10000 car

Chevy s-10.
They're better because your alignment guy can ruck up your caster and camber while setting your toe.

>>13935798
multilink in the rear

NA's and probably NB's are double wishbone

This explains why double wishbone is better.
>>
>>13937629
no.. it isn't..

just because its double wishbone (of any type) doesn't mean the geometry is optimal for performance driving and doesn't mean it's stronger it's also more expensive to alter if you have to.

IF it's designed for racing then yes it's a lot better.

Miata
>>
why you want double wishbones for OP. theres a lot more which contributes to whether a cars suspension is gud than if its double wishbone or not

daily reminder live rear axle cars consistently dominate more powerful irs cars in motorsports
>>
>>13934766
why the nig-sized tires?
>>
>>13937685
chevy colorado
>>
>>13937884
How is that possible? Wouldnt a live axle cause the driving wheels to lose grip more often than irs? During any type of turn you would lose speed than if the angle the wheels touched the ground would always keep maximum surface area. Lower threshold for power loss means more power to the road, not just the wheels.

I cant imsgine this being valid unless most of the tracks were mostly straights with little turns.

de dion is not independent and it works very well
>>
>>13940983
It has a lot more to do with how it is designed than the type of suspension design used. A race car with a live axle is going to handle better than a street car with IRS, obviously. The only time a well designed straight-axle suspension is a big problem is when driving on rough terrain, because as one wheel sinks or rises with irregularities in the road, the other wheel is going to respond as well, even if it's driving over a perfectly flat surface. That, and you can't really adjust the camber or toe.

My 04 Mazda 6 Wagon has a double wishbone at the front and multilink in the back.
I got it for CAD4100 and no issue other than the cracked windshield.
What's so special about double wishbone?

McPherson does not take well to being lowered
some fix positive camber gain with special bolts or by minimising suspension travel

there are other approaches like adding high static negative camber or using caster to gain extra negative camber during turn in

also the front springs on many mc struts do not allow for wide tires
