Hey guys first time on /o/. If there are other threads like this lemme know.
But basically my parents bought me a new Elantra and I love it. And I want to keep it going strong as long as possible (20 years??)
But...I know nothing about cars. What type of things need to be done so the quality of the car is maintained as long as possible? Like changing oil at what frequency etc etc.
Thanks bros.
check your blinker fluid and make sure you don't wear out your muffler bearings--you're looking at a $5k fix for those bearings
I don't know where you live but if you live in somewhere cold, be sure to keep the engine running while you do any oil changes

Is being retarded genetic in your family or what

^ Troll.
Change the oil every 5,000 miles. Keep up with the factory maintenance schedule, and that's about it.

Get inside car, locate owners manual, read that shit.
Who the fuck taught you how to take a picture?

This. Unless there's an oil life indicator in your cluster then follow that.
Raise your fuel's octane level by mixing milk with your gas on every fillup
Hey OP i got one of these, 20k miles on it so far. As long as you do the service maintenance, the car will do just fine. It is not a particular exciting to drive, but it will get you from A to B for many years, costing you little in the process.

>wanting to drive a fucking Hyundai Elantra for 20 years
literally kill yourself
Two words. General Maintainace. My truck has 426K miles on it and it still has maybe 75-100k to go.
