Who /fully mechanical/ here?
I'm almost to greatness other than power brakes but I'd rather be kek.ed by my brakes then on the side of a mountain.

Broke both wrists at track will never again fuck that. Power steering all the way
>>
Power steering, abs, and dual clutch are all superior to old technology. You can never turn faster, brake in shorter distance and shift faster. Unless you're in a purpose built race car and regulations/weight is so much of an issue.

It does have power brakes, but at least their 4 wheel drum, every thing else is manual.

rather have assisted steering than assisted brakes.
manual steering has weird weighting imo

technology is really good for being efficient. But it's not necessarily the best for having fun, I mean anyone with a brain can see that. What good is a game if the game plays itself?

Power steering is gud. It's not like a well designed rack like in the Miata and old BMWs gives you any less steering feel. Besides, managing fatigue is an important part of racing, and you can't do that if you're wrenching at the wheel hour after hour.

Power brakes aren't necessary with a properly sized master cylinder.

>low profile

Three of these things do not apply

>>13906661
It's not terrible, but it has the turning radius of a football field.
>>
>>13906326
I have a Datsun with manual steering and the feel is good. But fuck manual steering in a 50 year old landbarge. I did when I had to nurse it home by swapping the belt to the alternator when it shredded.

I am. Power brakes only. But the booster doesn't do much because big cam

That is true. But once started they can run and drive completely without electricity
>>
>>13907760
well disc brakes have to operate using hydraulic pumps right? you can't avoid doing that.
>>
>>13907771
No, they do not require a brake booster. You can run disc brakes with just a master cylinder, lines, calipers, and rotors.
>>
>>13907771
Drum brakes are hydraulic too m8

>>13907767
They can! but not on the road because you have to have lights.
>>
>>13907794
Not in the daytime. Hand signals. :^)
>>
>>13907794
i'm saying drum brakes don't need a pump though, you just operate the hydraulic lines using just your pedal.
>>
>>13907799
Disc brakes are the same m8. brake boosters just make it easier.

>>13907797
That depends on where you live I suppose.
>>
>>13907799
Disc brakes don't need a booster either

Why do you keep calling it a pump?
>>
>>13907803
wait what? i thought you had to run a pump that you'd regulate with the pedal because a disc brake uses multiple pistons while a drum has only one.
>>13907804
isn't a brake booster a hydraulic pump?
>>
Just adding some water to my calcium carbide headlamps...
>>
>>13907814
>isn't a brake booster a hydraulic pump?

No, it's basically just a big diaphragm with a rod attached that uses engine vacuum to help your chicken legs operate the brake pedal

My friend is full manual, he's the most obnoxious cunt I've ever met when it comes to auto stuff.

He even hates electronic windows and prefers to have his shitty oversized JDM cranks dig into his legs.
>>
>>13907814
Disc pistons move less than slave pistons in drums do. Less fluid motion and more control.
>>
>>13907771

wtf am i reading
>>
>>13907844
I think he might be thinking of how aircraft brakes work?

Pump runs to keep pressure up in an accumulator, metering valve operated by the pedals opens up to pressurize the brakes. This pressure will deplete after a few cycles without the hydraulic pump running.

>>13907759

My Fiat X19 is unassisted steering and unassisted brakes. Fucking love it.

My e36 track car wilk be getting the power steering removed.
>>
>tfw removing power steering will fail your inspections round here
>>
>>13906326
is your car from the 1970s ?
>>
>>13907857
The brakes on my bike work like that, there's a hydraulic pump that runs when the brakes are applied and boosts the line pressure. The brakes are spectacularly good with hardly any effort from the lever but it's horribly complex.
>>
>>13907771
just be glad you do not have cable actuated drum brakes on all four

no power steering
no power brakes or brake assists
no power windows
It was all manual drums when I bought it, with a single reservoir master cylinder,
I put disks on the front with a dual reservoir but I didn't add a brake booster. It should stop fine.

pic related is the day I bought it
