Engine rebuilt no issue. I rebuilt a v6 and place new heads on 4 and v8s. I can do it under 500 dollars. But anything else should i know about the ford ranger. Anything i should look in to replacing or bad attributes. Would it be the last and final time i will replace a head. Is the ford a bad idea in to investing moneh in?

Engine rebuilt kit with new water pump oil pump rings and bearing and all the gasket under 400 and i have a machine shop who can do the head and block for under 200.

But is it worth investing the money in to it i know is a ford but i want to know what else should i expect. No automatic so i would not worry about it gernading on me.

No. But 700 or 7,000 if you have the money. It doesn't mean it wont be a mistake or a lost. If you just spend money because you can doesn't mean is a good idea.

I bought a '93 for $300, but my engine was good.
Engine is the best part of the truck, everything else has pretty much disintegrated. The manual trans leaks out the shifter.

The motors should be easy to come by, the local NASCAR track has a 2.3L class because that Ford(Mazda) motor is the shiznit.

WoW. Thanks. I bet i can get to the gasket of the shifter column quite easily feomw the floor board. Also the 2.3 is the only 4cylinder engine they are still producing on all the new rangers. 1993-2011 so over a decade so a fairly good engine.

Wow that's pretty cheap for machine work. Are they going to do the bores too or just check the deck for levelness on the block? Make sure all your tolerances are correct but I'm sure you already knew that.
