Not really. The rear suspension was pretty much the same as the C3, but a little different and just kind of weird. The front suspension was unequal length double a-arm suspension, which is awful. I've been told it is actually a swing arm design that is modified, not even a true double a-arm. Either way, it sucks.

The C4 is heavy too, no lighter than the C5. It doesn't even use a true unibody design, it's technically body on frame. It has a lot of front and rear overhang as well, and not very good weigh distribution. It's goo compared to F-Bodies and Mustangs of the time but not great. They are expensive too, all the cars I listed are probably cheaper. The cheap ones don't even have a true manual trans, they have the stupid 4+3 transmission. Honestly I would take a third gen or fourth gen F-Body over the C4.

I don't think you know much about suspension systems, or weight distribution. Both of those things have just as much or more to do wiht lateral Gs than tires. That's why you can't put Z06 tires on a Triumph Spitfire and pull 1g.

A60 Celica. Getting kind of rare, but can be very cheap. I'm not sure what swaps are easy and cheap for the Celica, maybe a CA18DET. I heard a 7M is difficult to swap, but if you can do it. Can make a lot of power. At that point you might as well get a MK2 Supra, already has a 5M so 7M should be easy. The MK2 Supra is a little more expensive though (still cheap as fuck) and a little heavier, but it is much better so still a good choice. Or you could get a Cressida and put a manual 7MGTE, same thing but 4 doors and a little heavier.
