Why is brushed steel so nearly unheard of as a finishing option for cars? Considering most body panels are made of steel, it'd be easy to do, no?

It's also difficult to stamp in a press, so couldn't be used as part of the monocoque. Remember that the DeLorean had a steel double wishbone chassis, a fiberglass body shell, then the stainless panels. Shit was heavy.
