The dealership pays for the impact stuff, so I don't really give a fuck. It's just mildly frustrating when the socket keeps falling off my impact because it's rounded out. Especially during the current tire season.

Napa is literally just rebranded lisle

>>13819538
Facom is literally rebranded snapon

How have you faggots not mentioned knipex, grey pneumatic, and gearwrench?

Snapon ratchets are literally the best and worth every penny.

Knipex makes the industry's best pliers

Matco builds really great tool boxes that are relatively affordable for a truck brand

Sunex makes some good reasonably priced impact sockets.

OTC makes some decent HD specialty tools

Aircat makes some great air tools that are a fucking steal compared to other big name pneumatic tool manufacturers

99% of shit from harbor freight is garbage regardless of warranty

Craftsman tools have decent durability but arent very rewarding to use. They're the base model economy car of tools. They're socket "sets" and wrench "sets" are fucking retarded. The "mechanic's tool set" comes with a bunch of bullshit that nobody really uses and half the sockets are 12 point which are virtually useless. I still buy from them from time to time, but you have to really know specifically what you need because they're sets are just fucking garbage in terms of tool selection.
>>
>>13820743
Whoops my bad I didn't realize facom was a stanley brand.
>>
>>13820703
ah, i see. well not much you can do if your employer cheaps out on basic hand tools which are the bread and butter of your work. this summer i kept having issues with the A/C tools being super cheap and leaking UV dye everywhere, annoying to clean up and gets on every surface ever. the best one was when my boss shows up with a brand new one (also super cheap) and he hook it up to inject dye into the system, back pressure causes the thing to pop to pieces in his hand, blowing UV dye straight into the interior of a 2008 Convertible Corvette in the next stall.
>>
>No Canadians preaching the holiest of tools, Mastercraft

>>
>>13820705
Haven't had that problem, I have strippers that I bit through a hot wire with and blew a big hole in the cutting part and the stripper part still works fine.

>>13820743
I should have mentioned Gearwrench, I have their ratcheting wrenches and they are decent, definitely WAY better than Craftsmans offering.
Blue Point is also good here and there, I like their specialty tools (they sell them off Snap On trucks, IDK if they are Chinese or not but the tools I have of theirs have been solid.

Mastercraft wrenches, ratchets, and sockets are pretty great to be honest, family. I am not overly impressed with their other offerings, like hammers and such, still prefer my Estwing.

Can't really justify buying a Stiletto, but they are pretty fucking bombproof.
>>
>>13820818
pick one up off Ebay, usually $50-80
>>
>>13820801
Blue point is decent but you can definitely find better tools for the price. My $10 husky 1/4 ratchet feels better than my coworker's bluepoint.

I also forgot to mention how retardedly short 1/2 cman ratchets are. It really is a shame they don't put more thought into their tool production. They made a decent start with their professional line of wrenches but they were discontinued for some reason. Sears could be a real leader in the industry if they actually gave a fuck.
>>
>>13820818
I think my flex softhandle 3/8 was $120 off the truck. More than worth it, even as a home mechanic dealing with cheap ratchets is terrible. If you are going to spend up on a single tool make in a Snap On ratchet.
>>
>>13820825

Reverse that order and you're about right.

>implying Irwin makes bad tools
>implying POWER FIST makes anything worth owning

This nigger is fully and completely retarded. Power Fist is cheap chinese garbage. Warranties aside, it's shit and I don't trust it to do its job. I've broken 2 of their sledgehammers and SNAPPED a fucking prybar from them.

Since when does Leatherman make tools in the same right as Craftsman or Mastercraft? They make specialty shit, they're more of a knifemaker than a tool maker.

You'd have to start ranking everyone then, like SOG, CRKT, Gerber, etc.

Also,

>not mentioning Stiletto
>not mentioning Estwing

What is this, amateur night?
>>
>>13820818
Don't waste your time with the older snapon ratchets. They really aren't that great, but the newer dual 80 is phenomenal. The 3/8 is like $110 off the tool truck, but you should check your local pawn shops and Facebook tool trade groups. Be sure to get the long handle comfort grip.

Some people prefer the flex head ratchets which cost even more, but I hate using them when I'm really torqueing on something. I'm scared to death it will flex at the wrong time and I'll slip off of the fastener.

> all these bullshit hipster tool brands
Ingersol rand for air tools
Snap on for ratchets

I use Stanley and I've never come across nicer tools for the money. 120$ for this whole set, I used it every day, 8 hours a day for 3 months and never had a single complaint. Sockets fit really tight, and somehow didn't explode when I had to sometimes use them on the impact gun, ratchets never once had any issues, again, very precise, even the screw bits and other odd things were even really nice to use. It's even got a lifetime warranty.

Crapsman is garbage
Mastercrap is garbage
I've literally never broken a tool asides from those two brands. Broke two crapsman ratchets and bent the forks on the open end of a mastercrap wrench, not to mention the general precision of the tools is just horrible. The sockets are loose like granny tits, and the ratchets are just floppy crap. Especially like when I can get a toolkit for 120$ like the one mentioned I literally don't see a point buying them asides from if you know you're going to break it.

Electrician here, about half my tools are Kleins and they're the half that sees the most action. Their strippers, nut/screwdrivers, multimeters, and linesman pliers are excellent. The only issues I've had were with their really tiny flatheads, which bent after dealing with a really stubborn screw no bigger than a pinhead.
>>
I used a harbor freight pneumatic die grinder and drill for 6 months every day at my first job. Never let me down, loud as fuck though. A lot of their stuff is shit, but their air tools are pretty silid, especially for the homegamer.
