However, that can only be a dream. Dodge already confirmed the Viper is going to that great place in the sky in 2017. Its the fact that nearly every single good American car now is being remade into some shitty fucking "family friendly" weekend warrior bullshit 'car'. Where did the Charger go? When did the Dart become some soulless Kia? Hell, it doesn't even have to be Dodge. Fucking 4 and 6 cylinder turbo Mustangs? 40k for a V8, in the original Ponycar? What the fuck happened? The Chevy Impala, the big old muscle landbarge. You'd FEEL that car pull up before you saw it. Incredible car. What is it now? Some plastic-fantastic family sedan for some harried trophy-wife who's husband ran out of money to run into a fucking semi while texting about her vagina waxing.

As >>13818739 said. Viper has always been a very niche car. Most people don't buy them because a Vette can do 90% of what a Viper can for half the cost. Don't misunderstand, I love the Viper more than any other car. It's just the reality of the situation. In a money-making situation, where the Viper is a hand-crafted V10 roar machine, it cannot compete with the Vette in terms of being profitable.

It died before based on this fact because it was necessary for Chrysler to survive financial troubles. Now it's being axed because the Fiat overlords are looking to maximize profits in every area that they can. The Viper, in it's current state, requires too many man-hours/resources/materials for something that is lucky to sell 1,000 cars a year. So the current CEO just sees it as a money pit.
