Do you think it's worth it buying ex rental cars/ company cars? Super high mileage but new models for cheap, people tend to rag the shit out of rental cars, full throttle dumping the clutch etc, but is it a good deal with the huge price cut?

Hertz President's Club member here. I baby cars, but I've been in cars with coworker, family, and friends and witness the abuse first hand.

Ex Fleet cars can be okay. People generally use them as point A to Point B vehicles, and while the trim can be a bit bare they are generally OK.

Anything owned by a formal rental company is a skip.

I've watched people drive first gear at highway speeds "because". Trust me.

Nope, all base model cars, often go over on milage for oil changes which use high milage oil anyways, they get damaged pretty often, the way we wash them leaves millions of little scratches on the paint, and think of all the farts that have happened
>>
Fuck no.
People abuse the fuck out of hired cars.
>>
I rent minivans just to beat Toyobaru fuccbois on the Toegue every weekend.
>>
I use rental cars for reverse-donuts every time I get one. I'm not being charged for tires. :^)

God no, never.

In Europe it's mostly manual unless you ask for an auto

>High milage
lolwut? Most rental fleets turn their cars over around 40,000 miles.

But there's a big difference in how thrashed the cheapie compact rentals get versus the big upgrade cars.

It can be worth it. The only person I knew who owned a former rental drove it with no problems for close to a decade.
It was an '86 Nova.
