HENDERSON, KY (WFIE) -
The man charged in connection with the shooting death of Autumn Burkhart made his first court appearance on Tuesday.
Joshua Bumphus asked the judge if he could enter a plea, but the judge told him that will happen at his next court date.
Bumphus and Elijah Roberts were shooting at each other in the 1000 block of Powell Street. Autumn Burkhart was caught in the crossfire and later died at an Evansville hospital.
Autumn's death has been ruled a homicide, but it is not sure which bullet from which gun killed her so no one has been charged in her case yet.
Bumphus will be back in court next Thursday.
is that a tame monkey, or a wild one?
