https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2017/08/21/trump-celebrates-solar-eclipse-by-looking-up-without-special-viewing-glasses/

>Like many Americans, President Trump on Monday gazed at the first solar eclipse in a century to cross the continental United States, coast to coast. But at one point he appeared to ignore precautions that scientists and doctors warned were necessary to protect people's eyes during the celestial event.

>Trump emerged on the Truman Balcony of the White House with first lady Melania and son Barron shortly before the eclipse reached its apex in Washington. He waved at the crowd and responded to a reporter's question — “How's the view?” — with a thumbs up, according to the White House press pool.

>Then he tilted his head upward and pointed toward the sky, prompting a White House aide standing beneath the balcony to shout, “Don't look,” according to the press pool. It is unclear if Trump looked directly at the sun, but photos of the moment have already become an object of derision.

>As Blaine Friedlander wrote in The Washington Post, the first rule of enjoying a solar eclipse is to never look directly at the sun without eclipse glasses, because it could damage the eyes, advice that Trump's daughter Ivanka also gave her Twitter followers.

>According to NASA, "Looking directly at the sun is unsafe except during the brief total phase of a solar eclipse ('totality'), when the moon entirely blocks the sun’s bright face, which will happen only within the narrow path of totality.

>"The only safe way to look directly at the uneclipsed or partially eclipsed sun is through special-purpose solar filters, such as 'eclipse glasses' ... or hand-held solar viewers."

>As The Post's Amy Wang reported, staring at the sun can cause a condition called solar retinopathy, which leads to a decrease or a distortion of a person's central vision, according to Sveta Kavali, an ophthalmologist and retina specialist at Saint Louis University.
>>
>>170349
>“That damage is typically irreversible, and there's no treatment for this,” Kavali said in a Saint Louis University video about viewing the eclipse safely.

>Trump eventually put on special viewing glasses and watched the solar eclipse for about 90 seconds.

>Also spotted on the Truman Balcony on Monday afternoon were Ivanka Trump, Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross, Attorney General Jeff Sessions and counselor Kellyanne Conway.
>>
>>170349
So I guess the Russia story is going to get swept under the rug in favor of

>"Trump does the exact same thing that millions of other Americans are doing!"

For fuck sake, there are people with real lives and real jobs to do, not everyone can take a day off work at the volunteer vegetable garden and go drop acid to watch the solar eclipse with $100 eclipse glasses they bought through an advertisement masquerading as a Reddit thread.

Is it too much to comprehend that a construction worker or firefighter might be too busy serving the community to put on glasses to view a celestial event? Maybe they wanted to feel like a part of it so they glanced up a few times and squinted at the sun.

President Trump is too focused of a man for eclipse glasses, he was probably practicing his ability to watch a golf ball cross in front of the sun.
>>
>>170351
>$100
they're literally 2 fucking dollars. If he can't afford that then I guess Trump really isn't a billionaire is he?
(actually he did have glasses and took them off at some point)
>>
does this prove that Trump is either God or the second cumming of Christ? no mortal man can look at the sun without being blinded, but somehow Trump just did.
>>
>>170349
>It is unclear if Trump looked directly at the sun

LOL! American media, folks....
>>
Trump is seventy one fucking years old, why would he care about eye damage now?

OH YEP

REAL AMERICANS LIKE TRUMP TOO BUSY DOING WORK TO NOT BLIND THEMSELVES

THOSE FUCKING LIBERALS AND THEIR EYE SAFETY
>>
>>170349
>After he had watched the eclipse with glasses we caught .6 seconds of Trump looking up
>Lets take that frame and make it headline news he was staring at the sun without glasses
Real hard hitting stuff, right up there with 2 scoops and Melina wearing high heels too often. Cant wait to hear 5 different late night comedians make the same 2-3 jokes about it.
>>
>>170349
Most definitely not a propaganda article trying to make him out as an idiot.

Here's an image showing the event which The Washington Post unironically believes was eye-threatening.

This is a single article by an employee at a huge news organization. Figures shit babbling cretins like yourselves jump up and down like retarded seals when an intern at the WaPo reports on inane details, then crying "duh libruhl media" like a a broken record.

Another drop in the bucket for president shit for brains to be quite honest.

This is a shitty attempt at trying to say trump is dumb. I'm not even right wing, this is just fucking stupid.

they can report on literally anything else, but they chose this. Honestly, what a bunch of fucking retards.
>>
>>170454
It's funny you think the media isn't a letting cesspool. Theast six months have proven that very clearly.

This one of many articles that push a left wing narrative based on "fake news".
>>
>>170432
The topic is nonsense.
>>
>>170379
So you watch all the liberal media comedians every night?
>>

I said "inane details", you shit gobbling gremlin. Don't twist my words to your liking.

>>170476

Another dumb righty that has a difficult time accepting any negative news about Trump. At least Dem's didn't jump through intellectual hoop and hurdle when Obama did something they didn't like. Speaks for his base, to be quite honest.
>>
>>170580
Obama didnt have 80% of the media writing stories about his eating habits, his every typo or picking out frames of footage to talk about things that literally did not happen. You are in a thread about actual fake news because it reaffirms your faith that a billionaire playboy turned president is an idiot. Despite video of him wearing glasses during the eclipse, you instead choose to believe a still, taken post event, is proof enough contrary that he watched the eclipse without glasses. You are the living embodiment of the two scoops meme
>>
A great example of fake news.
>>
>>170585

>dijon mustard
>putting feet on resolute desk
>wearing a tan suit

Nothing about OP's article, while tedious to report on, is inherently fake.

>But at one point he appeared to ignore precautions that scientists and doctors warned were necessary to protect people's eyes during the celestial event.

Which he did. He looked at the sun, at one point, without glasses on. It didn't report him continuously doing so, it reported it as "at one point." At no point did I say he continuously looked at it. Quit shoving words into my mouth slimy kike weasel.

>because it reaffirms your faith that a billionaire playboy turned president is an idiot.

And YOU are in a thread because you are convinced he's actually a master at 72D underwater backgammon. This is the same guy who had to ask Flynn if it was better or worse if the US dollar is "strong." This is the guy who leaked top secret intel to the Russians because he literally could not keep his dick in his pants. It's the guy who blabbed on about defeating ISIS within 30 days, promoting an amazing healthcare plan, and protecting the middle class all while ISIS rages on 6 months later, his healthcare gimmick turned out to be literally nothing, and repealing Dodd Frank and increasing taxes on middle class to lower them for the upper class.

Your entire post is an affirmation that you've already decided what the opponent thinks without even engaging in them. You're the worst kind of internet post, a shit eating spastic goblin with the critical thinking skills of the president you elected.

Get the fuck out of my face, faggot cocksucker.
>>
>>170497
No, he just likes to get mad thinking about how people have different opinions about him.

He'll hear about it offhand from a friend or on some half-dead thread on 4chan. Which will basically be an overwhelming level of saturation for him and his secret club buddies, if we're going at face value here.
>>
>>170610
>Getting this mad that someone pointed out you are the audience for fake news
Had to skip most of your ramblings, likely more WashingtonPodesta nonsense that either didnt happen or was as greatly exaggerated as your mothers chastity.
>>
>>170615
You had to skip most of the ramblings because they proved he was right and that you were wrong. That's all it is. You faggots are so thin-skinned, it's ridiculous.
>>
>>170616
>T-t-technically it wasnt wrong just misleading from a politically charged and highly biased source
Oh golly sorry he just meant that they had a line of the article mentioning it wasnt the whole viewing, only most of the article was yellow journalists and "comedians" talking about stuff that didnt happen, totally different.
>>
>>170610
>Put words in his mouth
>Claim the other guy is the one whos decided what you think
Tippity toppity kek. Not even getting into half the shit you posted being occupydemocrats level of lies
>Demanding a plan in 30 days means he would have executed the plan in that same 30 days
>House repubs being limp dicked when they can finally act on their false promises is his fault
>Taxation needs citation, he has yet to do or plan to do any of this
>Dodd frank is still there, committee formed to evaluate its effects has been around for months with no decisions made or findings announced
The only wholly true thing you posted was the dollar issue you faggot. Get off washingtonpost and get on spidr so you can see more than what literal DNC senior staff wants you to see
>>

>>
>>170454
2 scoops
>>
>>170615

You probably read the whole thing anyway, realized you got eternally BTFO'd but decided to "take the high road" and conveniently not read it. Just like shoving words into my mouth, your apparent attempt to warp and distort reality to your liking is palpable and pathetic.

>>170630

>surprised when low effort post is responded with low effort

>Demanding a plan in 30 days means he would have executed the plan in that same 30 days

I have confidence that any general of military official with ACTUAL military experience would gladly take on any pragmatic solution to defeating a global faction within 30 days. Unless he was just making shit up on the spot to advantage of intellectual dullards such as you, the rest of 4chan and his other merry band of morons.

>House repubs being limp dicked when they can finally act on their false promises is his fault

No. He said he had the "best healthcare". He never participates in the nuances and substances of the healthcare debate because he's an intellectually stunted midget. The rest of the table looks at him with the attitude of an adult watching a toddler ramble on about how gravity isn't real. He's a figurehead for the GOP, with a team of enabling adults working around the clock on damage control to cast him in a positive light, working overtime because he keeps shooting himself in the foot over and over. His only advantage is his likewise mentally stunted base that is convinced that any opinion that disagrees with them is the liberal media, a paid shill, liberal university, or a communist. That or you can do as the other poster and literally just warp reality to fit your narrative.

>>Dodd frank is still there, committee formed to evaluate its effects has been around for months with no decisions made or findings announced

OH HO! IT'S OKAY EVERYONE! HE'S JUST POINTING THE GUN AT OUR HEAD WITH THE INTENTION TO FIRE (they're crafting a reform bill as we speak) BUT HE NEVER PULLED THE TRIGGER!
>>
>>170630

>The only wholly true thing you posted was the dollar issue you faggot.

Hmm, yeah, not understanding basic economics should be a red flag that he has no grasp on the rest of the issues I brought, especially considering macroeconomics was supposed to be his strong suit as a "successful businessman". How can you handle the nuances and technical finesse of engaging in political wrangling, international diplomacy, and healthcare when you lack basic comprehension in the field you herald as your forte?

Oh wait, that's right, he doesn't. Give Obama credit for at least hosting a one hour session where the GOP tried take him down by needling him questions regarding the ACA. Obama understood his legislation, he understood what he was bringing to the table, all apparent because FOX news literally shut down the question forum when it was apparent the GOP was getting BTFO'd because their platform is made of wet tissue paper.

Has Trump down this? Has Trump shown insight into his policy without some "expert" crafting up his platform on a website or using a teleprompter he said he wasn't going to use? No, he didn't. Because a moron. Like you. You and your ilk of shit for brain retards obviously build off each other. It never used to be a problem because retards would be isolated from like retards, but now your kind can just jerk each other off on breitbart, pol or r the dingus.
>>
>>170637
>>170641
So you are wrong about the 30 day nonsense, but spout non arguments assuming a mythical military man is going to defeat ISIS by march 21st because that's the filter you heard about it through. You assume the GOPs limp dick isnt their fault when they, not Trump, spent 8 years boasting a plan for when they repeal the ACA, and when they get their shot they back down because, surprise, establishment politicians had nothing but the noise against the ACA that got them elected. You make grandiose assumptions about legislation relating to dodd frank because, lets face it, if Colbert didn't have an applause sign retards like you wouldn't know if repealing dodd frank was good or bad, let alone what it was concerning. Its been months and there isn't even sign of whether or not a repeal would happen. Ill give Obama credit for his work when most of the media stops tenderly caressing his balls and his presidency's scandals see even a tenth of the scrutiny of Trumps everyday life. ACA was passed on lies, bad math and the assumption that the insurance companies who co authored the bill had American citizens best interests at heart. What promise about the ACA was kept? That people got insurance when they otherwise wouldn't have bought it? cant keep your doctor, cant keep your plan, premiums co-pays and deductibles jumped but at least some people who didn't prioritize healthcare were finally forced to buy it. Everything you posted, literally all of it, centers on an argument with the weight of saying "people I dont like are doody heads." All you did was reiterate that your understanding of American politics are entirely filtered through the lens of the MSMs hateboner for Trump and repeat that he and people who like him are stupid.

>>
>>170349
Amount of time it takes to damage your eyes looking at the sun has never been studied. A few seconds doesn't cause damage or we would all be blind from going outside (may not apply to 4chan users). Only study done was in England after the 2001 eclipse via survey of people who went to a eye doctor after the eclipse. Those with permanent damage found on the retina had stared for 18 seconds or more. Aka it's fucking nothing, while the federal government has done nothing in months but fuck that he looked up for a second, that's the story.
>>
>>170647
Yes Trump is so persecuted by the evil big media.

Fox News shit on Obama for putting spicy mustard on his hamburger you morons. Right wingers are just as bad as libs for trivial moronic journalism.
>>
>>170351
Lmao I work on construction sites, and during the Eclipse we all took turns sharing eclipse glasses some guys had brought. Some other guys were looking at the sun VIA reverse camera on their phones. My boss put on welding goggles AND a pair of Oakleys and looked at the sun for half a second before he stopped because it was too bright. So no, even construction workers who are busy "serving their community" didn't just blindly stare at the sun. Trumps an idiot
>>
>>170648

I think your lack of 4chan expertise speaks for itself.

10 rubles have been deposited into your account.
>>
>>170680
Youve done nothing but repeat "Trump is an idiot" over and over again. Finding new ways to say it doesnt suddenly create an argument
>>
I happened to actually see this live on tv, Trump looked up for literally a second without the glasses and immediately put them on. This isn't even news, it's just another TWO SCOOPS attempt at making him look retarded or evil with no actual basis. News has went to total shit to the point that things can be either be easily proven wrong ("WHITE NATIONALIST FREE SPEECH RALLY" that was anything but) or are obviously nothing but opinions or taken out of context hit pieces. Even if this is a single piece written by a single person that doesn't reflect on the outlet as a whole, all these single pieces add up. The state of news is shit, and that no one points it out is even worse.
>>
170681

Thanks for outing yourself as a shill

Did you even read the post as to why I didn't quote it properly

No (you) for you again this time
>>

he put on glasses faggot, you hate america leftists can't stop being distressed.

>>170580

Why don't you go back to /leftypol/ and discuss how much you hate Trump's .5 second look in the vicinity of the sun there, I'm sure they'll agree this is the final nail in the coffin
>>
>>170678
It wasn't spicy mustard, but no ketchup. Almost as bad as Trump's pizza with a knife and fork scandal.
>>
>>170859

If it wasn't negative news you wouldn't have a 51 post thread with half the posts throwing a screaming temper tantrum at the WaPo. The guy who wrote this story has probably forgotten about it by now.

Stop kidding yourself. Some intern likely living in the DC metropolitan area to get you upset without even trying. Dwell on that.
>>
>>170349

Tucker Carlson remarked on this and (clearly in jest) claimed it was the 'most impressive feat performed by a president ever' or something to that effect. And the left wing media responded as if he was serious.

>Screaming temper tantrum
