An Uber driver is facing charges after police say an 18-year-old woman was kidnapped and assaulted during a ride in downtown Toronto.
Toronto police responded to a report of an abduction in the Eglinton Avenue East and Dunfield Avenue area, near Yonge Street, around 4 p.m. Sunday.
Police said the woman had ordered an Uber and was picked up by a male driver who allegedly engaged her in “inappropriate conversation” and made “unwanted advances” toward her.
The woman refused the advances of the suspect, according to police, and asked to be let out of the car.
Police said the driver refused to let the woman out of the car and attempted to take her to a “private location.”
The woman was able to escape the vehicle and call police, but investigators were not able to provide further details.
Sukhbaj Singh, 24, of Belleville, Ont., was arrested Monday and charged with forcible confinement, kidnapping and assault. He is scheduled to appear in a Toronto court on July 4.

A similar thing happened 2 years ago with a different driver when a woman fell asleep. It just so happened men me re have to worry about any of this.

I think a UN report finds Canada to be the worst nation in the west for rape and sexual assault. Regardless, what isn't being talked about is the high numbers of cabbies (all east-Indians etc) recently who are raping women (all so far are caucasian). I guess admitting the disaster that is forced Multiculturalism by Justin's dad wouldn't go over too well. :-/

It's not about races who does it. At the end of the day, men as a group are raping/ objectifying women. If not this one race of men then whites or another. Disrespect towards women is promoted in many different cultures including the west and that is the problems. Conservatives need to stop trying to distract from this majority male on female rape problem.
