Law is arbitrary at best, and it's kind of silly to lock this woman up for what is essentially a victimless crime when both families supported it. It's probably going to mess the kid up a lot worse now that this has gone public and he'll never get to see or speak to Vera again. I'd understand if she lost her job; the principal is the one who went to the cops with it, and it's grounds for termination to fraternize with your students as a teacher.
