Why don't rims with few spokes have more holes drilled into the rim bed? Wheels are fine with 36+ holes there, it's an obvious way to lose more weight without impacting performance
I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here
Any extra holes, especially ones without spokes attached to them will make the rim more flexy.
not uncommon on fat bikes, but they have a lot more material to prevent flex.

If there was a decent way of getting the nipples in without drilling the bed holes I'm pretty sure they would gladly avoid drilling entirely.
For example mavic threaded inserts.

Campy do that with a magnet on zondas and shamals. No rim tape needed
And you also need to remember that would do no favours for aerodynamics.

Drilling just the inner rim bed, not the outer nipple bed

Because holes weaken the rim by a more than the amount of weight they save.
I feel like you are taking crazy pills because this should be pretty fucking obvious anon
