Can I have some feedback on how I service my bike?
- I use a syringe to apply lube into each of the chain links before putting it on the bike.
- I use a clean silky paintbrush to apply lube onto the teeth of the cassette, so I don't paint the entire cassette, just brush over the teeth.
- RaceFace Narrow Wide 32t with a 9 speed cassette with no bash ring or chain guide.
- Using an Alivio RD. (Will upgrade to something 10 speed eventually).
- Tubeless on medium difficult terrain
- 9cm stem, I find it helps me keep my wheel forward when things get rough
Basically trying to mod my Stance into pic related minus the suspension set.

putting any lube anywhere on your cassette is retarded, you're just making your cassette sticky so it can collect maximum dirt
I slather motor oil all over my chain so there's sludge everywhere. is that bad?

using Criscoâ„¢ would be preferable

oh thank god, I thought I was the only one.

Rip drivetrain 20XX-20XX
there shouldnt be much lube on the chain, if you grab the chain and your hand becomes all black you dont clean it well enough and you put too much lube on it, you are wearing out the parts prematurely at maybe 3 times the speed. invest in one of those chain cleaners you clip on, most have a magnet on the bottom to collect metal bits, chances are you will have a shit ton.

You don't need to apply ANY lube to the cassette, it gets some from the chain anyway, and otherwise doing that just attracts dirt faster.
