There are decent chink frames. However they will cost you much more than that. And they won't have your much desired branding on them. These are made from shitty moulds that somewhat resemble the original using shitty materials as cheaply as possible. The end result is a shitty flexy frame that you don't want to trust your life on. If you want a fancy frame with a name everyone will know then buy the real thing and stop being a poorfag. If you're stuck in poorfaggotry and can't afford a nice name brand frame get a nice, but still relatively cheap chink frame from a reputable chink manufacturer. If you still can't afford that get a used frame. It won't have warranty but you can get great frames for pretty cheap if you find the right deal.

Examples?

1. Counterfeit bike frames are ABSOLUTE GARBAGE, TOTAL SHIT, UNSAFE AT ANY SPEED
2. You're a FAGGOT for posting this, SHILL
3. Fuck off
>>
>>990925
Deng fu/ hong fu and a lot of other chink sellers use the same open molds. I have a hong fu and the quality is impressive.
>>
>>990925
Giant
>>
Chink bikes are ok desu. In some instances the molds used are exactly like the ones used from the original manufacturers. QC is okay, the materials used are the same (carbon fiber sheets), but the chinks don't layer on the carbon fiber like Giant or Specialized do (you won't get the same "feel" or "flex")

Good bang for your buck, no it won't break on you after a couple of rides, some of them look super sexy.

Or just get a fucking CAAD5/6/7 for $250 and call it a day
>>
>>991175

Okay $250 is a little generous but there are deals out there. Full crabon is pointless if you don't have the money for it.

In fact my stupid jamis commuter with full carbon fork is lighter than my CAAD5 w/aluminum steerer. Get a bikesdirect POS with full carbon fork and slap some 105 and a Soul wheelset on the bitch
>>
im so like buying one

Not for any major name brand, no. For Ritte, yes.
>>
>>990923
>>990925
>>990953
Original specialized bikes are made in china with same materials at the same cost of the imitation, the fact they are overpriced doesn't mean they are better.
>>
>>991292
So the fuck what? Doesn't mean they're made to the same exact specs, and are inspected/tested to the same specs either. How can you tell if it's really the same? You can't. You're an idiot if you buy knockoffs, and you deserve what you get if you end up in the hospital after it fails and you crash. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

In this thread: people raging because others won't validate their purchase of an over priced brand name bike.
Dengfu and Hong fu are reliable bikes. We shouldn't be expected to pay more than a small second hand car is worth for a carbon bike, it's ridiculous.
>>
>>991292
Except that isn't true.

>>991321
>Dengfu and Hong fu are reliable bikes
Yes. Counterfeits like the OP, no. Deng Fu and Hong Fu go out of their way to source decent carbon frames and buy the ones with QC. You can even get the same Deng Fu/Hong Fu frames from Aliexpress same model, but they will send you a second quality one. Counterfeits don't even try to pretend to have quality.

counterfeit frames and open mold frames are different things, know what you are buying don't be retarded
>>

I dont like specialized but this is objectively wrong
>>

The market decides a fair price for any good, and bikes are no exception. If there was a way to make the same quality bike as the big brands but for less cost, then a company would jump in and do it and immediately take a huge chunk of the market share.
Just because you personally think that the prices are too high because you personally cant afford them, doesnt mean the prices arent fair
>>
>>991618
>If there was a way to make the same quality bike as the big brands but for less cost, then a company would jump in and do it and immediately take a huge chunk of the market share.
And just to drive the point home - exactly this has happened with Canyon and similar direct sale brands. They've massively pushed standards up and prices down, at the same time. That their nice frames are still two, three or ten times more expensive than the counterfeits should tell you something. I can guarantee you that if Canyon et al could buy quality bikes from the pirates for a tenth the money they resell at and just pocket the money they'd be all over that shit.
It's just not true though.

its like buying vodka it still tastes like shit and still gets one drunk

more like taiwan, in giant's factory. giant pumps out a majority of the industry's frames, including those with fancy italian names on them.

Spez was made by Merida last I heard. Did that change?

Manufacture=/=design and engineering mate
>>
>>991738

when i spent a dint in a shop for 4 or so years, our giant rep was adamant that non-in-house specialized came from the same factory. i guess it could have been giant propaganda, but with only 4 factories producing 90% of current market frames, it's not that difficult to believe.

>>991747

he asked where they're made, not where they're r&d'd. it's common knowledge that most bicycle frame 'manufacturers' are OEMs.
>>
>>991727
>more like taiwan, in giant's factory
My
GT Grade
came with a big ass "MADE IN TAIWAN" sticker, so it's a Giant?
>>
you ain't ever heard the phrase "fell apart like a chinese bicycle?"
>>
>>990906

Dressing up a cheap chinese frame to look like a Cipo/De Rosa is pretty cringe my friend. Same with people who put big ENVE decals on their chinese wheels. Just embarrassing.
>>
>>991727
No they don't. They are the biggest OEM player, bit hardly the only one.

>>991748
>>991748
Specialized is half owned by Merida, and made by Merida. There's no reason Merida would undercut itself to sell black market Specializeds. Also Giant reps tend to be huge liars and dishonest. I'm not sure why, but you can look up some of their bullshit about ISPs and weight to stiffness and other bullshit online.

>>991803
BD bikes are made in Taiwan, but not by Giant.
>>
>>991727
Cipo actually do make their frames in Italy
>>
>>991837
Fuji-ta Group its a biggest OEM tho
>>
Are chinese carbon forks just as deadly?

Generic frames are built in the same factories as shit like specialEd, trek, pinarello, giant, scott, etc

its not like there are some shady factories in a back alley somewhere that make these things, a giant autoclave to bake a bunch of frames is not a cheap thing to have

pretty much all bike companies will contract the factory to make a run of their frames, this goes for these cheap chinese frames too, so they are made in the same places with the same people as the expensive stuff. carbon fiber is not this magical proprietary stuff that only high end manufactures use, its basically all the same shit for cheap frames and expensive frames. Anyone can buy this stuff and its relatively cheap. A 8000 dollar trek or specialized frame has about $40 in material in it.

expensive carbon fiber isn't even necessarily good for bike frames, its higher tensile strength but far more brittle than stuff like t800, high modulus is basically a marketing meme and its required attention to application is far to high for even what you get in a 8000 specialized frame. The really expensive carbon goes into things like F1 cars and aircraft rudders where you have a whole bunch of highly paid specialists going over every millimeter of it to see if its correct, lower cost cf does the job required in bikes and is more forgiving to fuckups and isn't as brittle

the difference is in the quality control, you don't know if they inspect any of the frames for actual defects

I've bought 3 chinese frames, a deng fu and xmiplay I had was made very well, you couldn't see any marbling in the frame surface at all, I have another frame which has marbling all over it

i wouldn't recommend it because of the QC

one of the most annoying things besides the far better pricing is availability issues

if you want to buy a frameset, like say a CAAD12, you are shit out of luck unless you jump on it during the brief window they are available

the chinese frames are available all year, and usually have more options presented on top of that

I'd gladly pay the premium for a name brand frame, but simply they don't make them available
