Good condition second hand handbuilt wheels from craigslist. DA hubs or something. Clinchers & front brake track. Look for decent cheaper second hand parts for the rest too, you only need a new headset/ bottom bracket/ saddle/ bar tape/ brake pads/ tires/ tubes/ possibly drivetrain. A secondhand shop/ co-op is a good place for a stem because they should be able to let you swap sizes around to find out what you want. New parts you need from wiggle/ crc/ merlin/ ribble.

It would be better to throw your pure fix frame in the trash and buy a used complete bike/ stalled regret project which might actually be decent and cost less.

>rest of parts?
-Answer to question "Why am I commuting on a track bike?"
-Fenders, unless fair-weather commuter only. ("everyday"?)
-Lights, unless daylight commuter only.
-Reflectors, just cuz.
-Bell, because the law? (never use mine)
-Slime, patches, levers, pump, CO2 inflator, strong tires, or other puncture solution.
-Rack, basket, courier bag, other cargo solution. (not backpack)
-Lock, cable, somewhere to carry them. (frame lock FTW)
-Trick lock nuts for wheels, headset, and saddle?
-Stickers everywhere, because track bike commuter.
-Kickstand, because why not?
-Answer to question "Why did I buy a 'pure' track bike and then put all this crap on it?"

what if I just want new shit though?
>>
>>897772
Yea a cheaper easier way to learn about wrenching is to buy a used bike and maintain it. $400 wont go very far with new parts.
>>
>>897776
Damn. I already got this frame... so what the fuck? Would sort of cheap new parts be cool? Cause buying used and then putting on my frame sounds like a whole charlie foxtrot to me. THis shit is starting to sux
>>
OP here, I might not respond for a quick minute but pleaes keep alive.

Few options for track hubs

http://www.wiggle.com/?s=h+son+plus

Decent rims

use a spoke calculator to work out the spoke size you want and buy them somewhere, and also pay someone to build them.

Maybe Rubinos to save money on the tires (don't cheap out here though), or conti 4 seasons for something a bit tougher.

Buy a crank, and buy the bottom bracket to suit the crank. Also buy tools to fit both.

+ a shitload more stuff, which adds up pretty quick.

It's not like nobody will never ever ride a fixie again. Velodromes are not going anywhere and neither are fixies on the street. But they are on the right slope of this curve, and why not ride a real city bike in the city?
>no, you are not a real courier, just a poser.
