Can we have a computer thread?

I'm not sure if I should get a cheapo $10 computer or spring for a Garmin 25

I hate the complicated navigation kind that's the size of a phablet, and I use my phone for map history anyway, but the G25 looks pretty kawaii in addition to the fact that the Garmin Connect thing looks potentially interesting for personal non-attention whoring use.

OTOH all I really care about while I'm actually on my bike is knowing exactly how fast I'm going. I think. Anyway I'm not going to strava.

What should I do, /n/?

Also post your computers.

Even the cheapest BC shaped object will do that. Get some cheap Sigma if available.
>>
Get the CatEye one with the speed & cadence sensor that's wireless. Good budget computer with no crumby wire to route to the bars.

>Cheap GPS bike computers
Don't forget about Lezyne's offerings, they look nice.

>>894410
You can get a strap to put any twist-mount Garmin on your wrist. The Edge 20/25 would probably be the most suitable bike computers for this, but they won't have any of the running features of Garmin's watches which are explicitly designed for that.
>>
Op here. After some research, I found out that some of these cheap computers freak out and the speed/odometer start racking up crazy numbers when they're in range of a traffic light sensor or many kinds of RF transmitters.

So I have to either get a wired one (not too appealing) or an ANT+ one, or a GPS based one.
>>
>>894653
cateye velo 7

cheap and its really good for what it does, you just need to know how to manage cables and thats easy

in return you get a nice big screen that gives, speed, distance cycled, time spent cycling
>>
Garmin 25 looks so nice. I'd totally buy it, if I didn't have another Edge model already :\
>>
>>894356

I have a 25, it's pgood. Get the cadence sensor in a bundle with it.

Cateye Enduro series master race.

These guys are 13 years apart, but still has the same retail price.

The new one have some kind of trashy zip tie strap instead of a screw on.

I prefer the infamous classic 2 over the new one.
>>
no need for stupid wires and compturs. just memorize how fast you go in every gear @90RPM and know what gear you're in. when you spin out at the highest gear you are going sanic fast beyond measurable speeds.
>>
>>895489
>only pedaling at 90rpm....

yea i pedal at 270 but sheldon's calc only goes to 120 so i memorize 90 and x3 that shit

Cateye Velo 7. I have them on two of my bikes, soon going to put one on my aero carbon bike as well.

>>894390

can anyone recommend the less expensive computers that can measure cadence and/or watts?
thanks

>>895325

>>
>>895539
Watts of what?
>>
>>895541
watts = ammount of power = how much energy is beeing used. or at least thats what i understand.

also, something that tells you your cadence and speed? to hell with watt's? (cause there so expensive from what im reading)

ITT: OP looking for something they have no idea about.
>hurr i want a golden frame around it
>oh, golden frames cost money
>well, showing curent speed is sufficient
>something with diamonds, heart rate monitor and bluetooth?

Sigma 16XX can show cadence at least. XX stands for model year. There are wireless options available, which might act up just like you already noticed, would not recommend.
>>
>>894390
>Cheap

>Cadence -What tempo your legs are going at.
Yes.

>Watts- How much power you're throwing down.
No

Just go with something like anon's suggestions.

How did you steal my user ID senpai?

It would probably be just as easy to go on amazon and start looking around... It's not like its new tech that is buggy, they all pretty much function the same... Go read the reviews.
>>
>>895543

edge 25, you'll need to buy the cadence sensor though
>>
>>894558
for you.
