That's a columbus dove. That means it is nice. I think it's probably just a conventional kind, and you're missing the plates that clamp either side of the saddle rails and that that bolt threads into. You might find parts that will work on it at a bike co-op / second hand bike shop. It's short as fuck though, you might want something longer anyway. It probably has the side printed on it, but if it doesn't measure it with calipers (cheap from an autoparts store, get mechanical ones). There's a small chance it isn't the correct size post for the bike.

Charge plug for cheap, or i really like Selle Regal, Royal, Turbo, Concor or Flite 1990. Comfort is paramount though.

Here's the bike. It has some nice stuff on it from what i'm told, pretty new to road bikes.

The main problem i'm having so far is trying to find a socket to remove the crank, the socket profiles are to big to fit. Anyone know a cheaper option than buying a peanut butter wrench?

As for the post, is it ovoid, or is it round? The only post that Columbus made was the 'Air', which was oval-shaped, but your frame certainly looks like it should to take a round post so I'm not sure why the Dove logo is there.

For a thin-walled 14 or 15mm socket in the US, the only option I know of is Craftsman brand sockets from Sears.

It's a custom frame made in England specifically for by dad, have no idea who made it.

The post is round, am thinking of getting a new one though, the top half of it was thrown out with the seat.

I'm in Australia, have heard that better quality sockets have thinner walls, might just take it into a bike shop to have the crank removed.

Yeah my fairly decent teng tools 1/4 and 3/8 drive both fit the 500EX, 600 tri & campy mirage cranks i've tried them on. A decent 3/8 ratchet set is a pretty good thing to have.

I'm pretty sure a bog standard crank puller (cheap) will fit it. Make sure you remove the crank bolt and the washer before threading the crank puller into clean threads. It's pretty easy to remove cranks, just do it carefully. The bottom bracket is harder. Try to service it or get it serviced, but you might be able to find a cartridge unit with the ISO taper from campy, token or Phil, SKS for absurd prices/ very high quality.
