I'm in need of advice /n/
So I just ordered a bike from Halfords
http://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes/hybrid-bikes/boardman-hybrid-comp-bike?cm_mmc=Google+PLA-_-Bikes-_-Hybrid+Bikes-_-306654&istCompanyId=b8708c57-7a02-4cf6-b2c0-dc36b54a327e&istItemId=xpqrtwllxm&istBid=tzit&_$ja=tsid:94971|cid:868641099|agid:42483199663|tid:pla-328048967440|crid:203186066781|nw:g|rnd:13425117667526298599|dvc:c|adp:1o1|loc:1007100&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIpNrtw9T61AIVg6ntCh37bwiuEAQYASABEgLhGPD_BwE
This one, to be exact. They're already building it, it's supposed to be ready Friday.
However, i've just discovered this bike which I really like the look of. Only £50 more expensive, has 30% off the price, and looks super nice. Should I just ditch the Halfords bike and get this one instead?

For what it's worth it's just for my 4 mile each way bike commute, but I wanted something decent regardless. Pic related, the one I kinda want instead now.
pls respond
Marin looks to have better parts, have you tried riding either of them?

The marin has better parts and IMO looks nicer too. Doesn't specify weight but i'd presume it'll be lighter. And it's on sale too. Go for that OP, fuck halfords.
STAY AWAY FROM HALFORDS BSO
Marin looks a lot better
I told you, get the Muirwoods bro.

Checked like every site and none did one over 50cm. At least I found a better bike than the Boardman in my search though.

Not all bikes from Halfords are BSO's. The majority are, but bikes like Boardmans and Voodoos are pretty dam good bikes for the money. Unfortunately, those being good quality trick people into trusting their Carrera BSOs.
This is just my opinion:
Boardman: harder wearing components ; lesser name so not as likely to be stolen; lower price may place tin a lower bracket for insurance; You can get another 10% off if you buy a "british cycling" membership; Higher top gear for speed on roads.
Marin: More expensive components that will shift smoother but wear out faster ; Better brand name; Carbon fork.
welp, I fell in love with the marin and took the plunge
let it never be said that OP now doesn't have a moderately nice commuting bike

Congrats, you picked a nice one. Post pics when you get it; intrigued to see how that shade of gray looks in real life.

>harder wearing components
I would be interested to hear what you think you are talking about, because Sora is definitely a cut above Acera in durability and Shimano's disc brakes are way less finicky than Tektros.
I wish halfords sold decent BMX's

Get the marin !
The Marin is the better bike, that said when it's supposed to be £800 it better be.
However, you could've got the 2016 Hybrid Comp from Halfords for £400 and I don't think the Marin is worth an extra £150.
