G'day my /n/ignogs. Klaus here. I'm in Zurich once again so here are some obligatory tram pics.

Also I'll be here quite some time, any requests I'll try to comply. This time I have a camera phone or phone camera or whatever, so no waiting for pics.

Note the different liveries. The white one is part of what's called "Glatttalbahn" (three T's, it's not a typo), a suburban extension with full ROW in the new parts. But it still operates just like one more tram line.
>>
>>1083164
No, wait, they use the old orthography for Glattalbahn, so just two Ts.

This red tram is the Forchbahn, it's actually part of the S-Bahn suburban train network, line S18. It starts out in Zurich on the local tram tracks, then it leaves the tram track and works like a train. Not just a ROW, but absolute priority like a regular train.

S18 just arrived at its terminus, next to it the 15 tram is making a stop. In the back more trams.

That's it for today, tomorrow I'll get some more pics.

Uetlibergbahn train. This train goes up a little hill which is nice for excursions. Although this one terminates at this station. Only some go all the way up, the others just serve the local 'burbs.

Note the offset pantograph. This line has different voltage than the main line, so to be able to run on shared mainline tracks it has an off-center catenary.

Terminus of the Uetlibergbahn in an underground concourse below the main station. This line is part of a private company called SZU (Sihltal-Zürich-Uetliberg-Bahn), which operates the S10 aka Uetlibergbahn, and the S4, a suburban line. S4, the red train on the right, uses the standard catenary, S10 uses the offset catenary.

I understand Basel is one of the very few cities left that operates metre gauge tram lines that have distance between the tracks 2.5 metres, limiting the carriage width to something like 2.1 m?
