The inlaws gave us this monstrosity. It weighs a fricken ton, has a suspension fork(for what reason!), and has the geometry of a recumbent.
The wife likes it, kinda. She mostly like the comfort style and she doesn't know this thing is a POS.
I'd like to make it a little easier/faster without going full retard. If I swap some lighter slicks on it will that help? Any opinions on swapping in a suspension adjusted fork?

Any bike will benefit from quality tires
I wouldn't waste any more money on it though

Nothing is going to make that bike faster, it's a poor riding position for delivering power to the pedals and puts the rider in a position that's terrible for aerodynamics. Better tires would be such a marginal improvement I wouldn't even bother changing those.
I just weighed this thing, 35 pounds. It weighs five pounds more than my chunky tired 27.5 bike. The wheel/tire combo is .8 pounds heavier each astoundingly.

Paint flames on the bike and attach one of those handle bar mounted drink holders. A basket would be a nice touch as well as a kickstand
