That's not a road bike....

I own a titanium road bike wonder if that's /fa/

Full carbon litespeed fork, 48cm frame, comes out at just under 14.5 lbs with tape, pedals
>>
>>1074847
It's okay. It's basically a fake race bike. But you can't really race it since the geometry is kind a fucked and it's too heavy to be competitive in a world where full carbon bikes and wheelsets are king.

However it's steel and it's heavy and ships with /like 25 or 28 size tires so ride quality is pretty good if you're going slow.

But wheel and component quality is questionable.

I mean you could have built a better bike.

But not everyone has the skills to....

It's like "gaming PC thread" and you post a MacBook in a thread full of water cooled, cable combed over clocked machines who max out AAA rated games.

Running high end modular keyboard with 8 different types of.cherry mx switches on it.

Sure you can play league of legends in low settings with a MacBook and it's technically a gaming PC if you run Windows on it.....but it's not up to par...

sieg you havent changed a bit, you have aproximate knowledge of a lot of things and try to parade as an expert, this is far from a " basically a fake race bike", its a bike targeted at track cycling beginners and hipster who want a "fixie", the geometry is pretty standard for an entry level trackbike, similar to a dolan pre cursa, this bike isnt trying to be a competitive race bike (whatever thats supposed to mean) most people that buy them just run them with freewheels and brakes and use them as commuters

>>
>>1074935
no they didn't. it doesn't matter what they do. it would take the entire combined burgerstanian armed forces enforcing a worldwide cycling ban to 'ruin cycling forever'. some idiots saying words doesn't mean jack shit.
>>
>>1074942
They did, the industry thinks of bikes as fashion accessories because of them, then everyone ends up buying shitty chinese color coordinated fixies as their first bike.
>>
>>1074945
that doesn't matter at all. you're tilting yourself over nothing because you're an insecure teenager. grow a pair, bro.
>>
>>1074886
Big boy is 6'4" you cuck.
>>
>>1074946
It does matter, people think biking is hard for this reason, that's why they don't ride as much as they would if the industry wasn't selling bikes that are more fashionable than functional.

Fashion ruined biking forever.
>>
>>1074837
I don't believe in bikes as fashion accessories, but if they look cool, that's always a plus. I have a Wal-Mart beach cruiser that I used to commute on, it was all black and a lot of people thought it was cool. Getting compliments for a very cheap bike is cool. Beach cruisers are cooler than fixies IMO and really not any less rideable since they are all single speeds anyway. Cruisers tend to be popular among the elderly, but I don't mind that.

>>1074869
I prefer the American style cruiser to the Dutch bike, but they're very similar. Of course, the cruiser bike needs a rack added to be just as useful.

My Schwinn 80s road bike gets a lot of compliments. A guy at a traffic light today complimented it. The mountain bike gets few comments but it's a practical bike to ride around. Mountain bikes are rarely fashionable anymore. The 80s and 90s had a lot of experimental head turning mountain bikes. That's rare nowadays.

>>1074878
BMX is cool in the "urban" sense of things right now. If you want a bike that looks nice riding to work, that's obviously not what you're looking for.
>>
>>1074921

Get a dirt jumper, or 1 speed mountain bike from Nashbar, Bikesdirect, etc. with a rigid fork. There are 26" BMX cruisers but I'm guessing you want a bike that you can sit and pedal on.

You could also consider a fixie or putting BMX cruiser/moto bars on a beach cruiser (if coaster brake is OK)

>Black Phantom
That thing weighed like 60 lbs but it was the most adored bike ever. The typical beach cruiser is a "middleweight", the road bikes were "lightweights", but this was the most famous of the "heavyweight" models. It was built like an Abrams tank and had every imaginable feature a kid or adult could want on a bike back in the 1950s, and it cost a lot for a 1 speed cruiser. They reintroduced them in the 1990s for a while. It would be cool to make a klunker with one but they are too expensive for that. Definitely one of the best looking bikes ever made, even if cruisers aren't your thing.

Lol, enjoy having no brakes and never being able to coast down a hill. If I want to go fast I will ride a geared bike.
>>
>>1080710
You can still put brakes and a freewheel on a fixie making it superior in every way besides comfort compared to a beach cruiser.
>>
>>1080713
Well I guess to each his own. There's not a huge difference in speed other than the seating position. A lot of fixies have riser bars now. I've never rode a single speed bike with drop bars so I don't know what that's like. I can hit pretty impressive speeds on the cruiser (it's actually a 29er), and tucking forwards is possible but more awkward than on a fixie. Riding off road is more pleasurable than on a fixie. A modern cruiser will be heavier than a fixie, but lighter than a mountain bike because of suspension and gears. The wheels are also really strong on a good cruiser, since they make them in the old V-shaped style.
>>
>>1080716
Fixies are very similar to road bikes, a pro rider could probably get about 85% performance out of a fixie compared to his roadbike. Not having gears makes a fixie a great cheap alternative compared to a road bike.

Just look at these dudes, they get crazy speeds on their fixies.

I got curious about that too and did some research

apparently there are many tall BMX pros such as Niek Kimmann, Tory Nyhaug and Corben Sharrah, maybe you could get a bike similar to theirs.

Copying pro equipment is a bad idea for many sports tho. I don't know much about BMX so that might be wrong.
