ITT: We state objective facts. I'll start.
>steel bicycles are superior to aluminum and carbon bicycles
>>1067454
>i operate on a blah blah blah
you ride cage flats in WHITE TRAINERS you fuckin fred jr.
Paying registration would be a net positive for cyclists who train on or commute by road. As would mandatory training regarding safe road use.
>>1067546
This
>>1067546
Only if it makes them full fledged vehicles, i.e. taking the lane at all times, removal of bike paths and the "no bicycles" sign.
>>1067546
I'm ok with that as long as there is a designated bike lane on every road and bikes have the option of taking the lane when there is no bike lane on the road.
>>1067529
IIRC that kid didn't even win the race.
>>1067552
He needed power meter pedals and carbon shoes to win that race.
>>1067454
Never really looked at this pic for more than a few sec before, but really it looks like all he has are the wheels and the aero helmet. The frame and cranks look like shit honestly.
>>1067454
What about titanium?
>>1067558
And a skinsuit.
>>1067621
>'93
>not being stuck in '93
>>1067588
Titanium is about equal to steel. For most uses one is better than the other, it just depends what use. Both are objectively superior to carbon and aluminum.
Only Japanese steel is real.
>>1069737
>1000x-butted chromoly tubing or get off my board
I like you, anon.
>Aluminium bicycles are superior to steel and titanium bicycles.
Flat bar road bikes exist.
>>1067454
M1 license = motorcycle license 50cc and above.
B1 license should be a requirement for people who want to ride bikes capable of 5mph and above, include registration, smog like saftey compliance/condition inspection done by local bike stores (increase revenue) a written and physical test. Along with DOT approved bicycle helmet, tail and headlight
For the sole reason to make people take cycling as a serious means of transportation rather than a toy
op is a genuine faggot.

>to make people take cycling as a serious means of transportation rather than a toy
That's just the retarded American mindset.

I've been using this 70cc that I got at a storage unit auction for years without any kind of drivers license and stickers that expired in 2013. is that bad?

The frame looks lika a 14" rigid MTB from the 90s, but the fork is apparently carbon, plus the drivetrain is obviously road specific and a high-tier Shimano, judging from the cables being routed under the bar tape and the shape of the levers.
BUT!
Those are Lightweight wheels, man. Probably worth more than whatever you're riding.
If it's not Japanese steel that was folded over a thousand times, then it might as well be garbage.
>>1070446
dude you are retarded. Its a childrens road bike. Few companies make them.
>>1067454
superior in weight, amaright ?

A children's road bike with components worth at least 5k?

Keep trying, you'll get there eventually.
>>1070646
Nor through air. You can drop a carpet weighting a ton from a plane at the same time that you drop a marble weighting 100 gr... And see what happens.
>>1070631
5k kek
Pinarello makes a childrens road bike that retails 1k
if you upgrade the components, buy some carbon tubulars and upgrade the drivetrain it could be north of 2k
>>1070682
Dude, those aren't "some carbon tubulars". These wheels are made by Lightweight, did you miss the huge decals?
Also, judging by the age of this photo and the shape of the shifters, the drivetrain is likely a Shimano Dura-Ace 7900.
Go do your research.
All in all, it makes that Pinarello for kids look like a joke.

>>1070718
Yeah, and if you put Lightweight wheels on the same Pinarello, it would be north of 5k. Get it?
>>1070720
Okay? Whats your point?
>>1070720
would not be north of 5k you retard. It may be 5k worth of components. But it would never sell for close to 5k. Its only worth what someone is willing to pay. You dont sell bikes by charging for how much every part is on the bike and totaling it up
>>1070725
You are dumb, really really dumb.
>>1070737
Thank you, that means a lot coming from you. But please kind sir, would you care to elaborate?

All Asian dentists are freds
>>1070772
do dentists actually scrub up like real doctors?
26 commuting beater
Sunrace 28-38-48 front
Shimano MF HG-20 back (6s 14-28)
Tire is pic related (26x1.40)
I have this dnp 13-28 7s freewheel also. Is the extra speed worth the switch? Should I try to fit 600c? My average across town (traffic, signs etc.) is 13mph, I can go considerably faster but only when riding across the outskirts.
>>1070787
>like real doctors
Wait till you get a tooth nerve infection you nigger.
>>1071128
>Is the extra speed worth the switch?
YES
Fuck I hate how my OTS has such narrow gearing range, I think my smallest cog is 14 on that bike. I love my bike so fucking much, but I wish I had an 11.
>>1071281
Now I have another question that bothers me.
I feel like that >>1071128
tire rolls nicely (rode over 2000 miles with it) but I don't think the rear feels as comfortable as it should be. If I hit a bump I can feel the shit eating the metal, as if it's not enough. Yes, tube is always inflated accordingly.
What is a good, sturdy as fuck, commuting/touring tire within the 1.50 range?
>>1069819
Once you realize cars will never be serious and are all 'toys', driven and maintained like one, why submit to that?
>>1071402
Not sure exactly what you mean by "I can feel the shit eating the metal" but if you mean you feel bumps too much, ride a wider tire and/or lower pressure.
>tube is always inflated accordingly
If by this you mean to the maximum recommended pressure labeled on the tire, you could try going lower. Don't go so low to get pinch flats obviously, but go a bit lower than the max (if it gives a range, try near the bottom of the range).
If you want new tires, I recommend the Panaracer Pasela PT (make sure to get the PT or TG version, NOT the standard version; standard gets flats too easy). I run the 27" Pasela PTs on my OTS and I love them, best tires I've ever ridden. May also want to consider Specialized Nimbus and Michelin City.
