How? Just because you don't like his style doesn't make him garbage. I don't like Kendrick Lamar's style at all but I don't think he sucks as an MC. X just has a style a lot of people aren't used to. I wouldn't dismiss him as something talentless.

He has talent I think but he just needs to grow up a bit. He acts as if he's the world's foremost authority on everything he raps about. His "depressed" lyrics are just plain fucking terrible, coming from someone who has depression, they're just so surface level. He's been thrust into the spotlight too early but I genuinely think he could end up as pretty decent in a couple of years.

I don't like too much rap either. Try listening to Eyedea Far and away most impressive lyrics and variety of subjects plus he was one of the best at freestyling.

That's the thing about indie publications trying to cover rap now - suddenly you have these upper middle class white people trying to hold a poor, self-described 'thug' culture to the same standards and values.

Now that said whites are trying to bring urban culture into their own fold they're going to have to face the uncomfortable fact that pretty much all the rappers they're into besides a few sensitive middle class backpacker ones are literal girlfriend and wife-beaters, many of them pimps, and, as we're seeing with this X guy, Mystikal, R Kelly, etc etc etc... rapists. Like, you know that like every single gangsta rapper and 'thug' rapper has raped a few. I'm seriously not even baiting or exaggerating.

because it's FUCKIN incredible, beats can be anything from any genre of music basically, if you like puns and fun wordplay it's the go-to, it's infinitely accessible (anyone can rap, freestyling with your buddies is mad fun), lots of really good stories, its truly the music of the people. xxx has one or two decent songs but i had to stop listening to them because the moral compass police that harass me inside my brain wont let me. and there's so many different styles of rap, you'll def like some.
