So I was thinking about how much I dickride all of Judas Priest's stuff. So what does /mu/ think of them? I only rank them second to Dio but i'm just a bit of a fag.

I really like them too, probably my favorite "classic" metal band. K.K. Downing and Glenn Tipton are phenomenal guitarists and Halford's vocal range is unmatched.
I like painkiller and screaming for vengeance but not much else.
I love his voice though.
Painkiller and Screaming for Vengeance is one of the greatest metal albums of all time.
Painkiller is one of my all time favorites, Priest at their peak, it was downhill from there.
JP are GOAT.
Even the shit albums like Painkiller, and Turbo have good songs.

nice b8
Rocka Rolla, Sad Wings of Destiny, Sin After Sin, Stained Class and Painkiller are the only 5 albums that are great from beginning to end. Rest is either meme pop metal or just inconsistent.
It took me listening to like almost their catalogue before I really REALLY got it. But the Priest is good. Real god damn fucking good.
And Christ, they've been going for over FORTY YEARS. Just stop and think about that for a second. FORTY YEARS of quality ass heavy metal music, coming up to fifty pretty soon. They are gods for sure.

One thing that struck me was the fantastic sense of zeitgeist they had. Those albums are a perfect time capsule into the 70s-80s.
