Almost every single album has several worthless filler songs. Even the absolute greatest albums of all time typically have at LEAST one.

I agree if you're a mediocre pop musician, keep it under 30 minutes. If you're a really good pop musician who wants to have the most impact, keep it under 40 minutes. This includes most "indie" bands

I know plenty of albums without filler. Just because something doesn't sound like it's going to be the big hit from an album doesn't make it bad. A lot of the time less "consequential" songs are still great and or are necessary "filler" in the context of the album. Also, why do you listen to music if not to... listen to music? By that logic, more music is better, as long as it's good. There's no reason something released by a talented musician couldn't be over [any given length]
