This. Albums with less than 10 songs that are shorter than 40 minutes are almost always guaranteed to be at least decent since the creators had to cut down to only their best content rather than being forced by their label to shit out a bunch of bad filler songs that make the album as a whole unlistenable.

Look at it this way: If you listen to a 30 minute album and you like it, then you probably liked the whole album and are hungry for a little bit more. Whereas, if you listen to a 30 minute album and you don't like it, you can stop listening halfway through because you know what the rest of the album will be like or if you finish it you didn't waste all that much time.
