clicks = $
They are going down the same road of decay MTV did
>start off as cool hip white music website
>start shoving niggers and pop music into everything
>start talking about shit that isnt even music
>one day there is no music at all
>slowly die and fall into irrelevancy

They sold out to the big boys a few years ago. It's been a slow creep but they've gone full $$$

Pitchfork is literally a clickbait site disguised with music reviews. This is what happens when you join a conglomerate and get access to their funding, they force you to change the dynamic of your site and what it represents. It wasn't a coincidence that many of the core staff like Brandon Stosuy left after the sale or went back to freelancing like Ian Cohen did, they wanted no part in working for something that corporate. Ryan Schreiber stopped writing reviews over a decade ago so he doesn't give a shit what happens to the site, he's only interested in the money.
What is the new tastemaker?

pitchfork was grooming itself for buyout for years and lost its integrity in the process, these past few months of pop culture reporting have just been a confirmation of what's been painfully obvious for awhile now
