What's up /mu/ I haven't been on here a while but I'm looking for some recommendations
I've recently gone full pleb and taken a liking to straight up pop music. This is probably the fault of PC Music/Sophie, but regardless it's something I enjoy now
I'm not really sure how to find out about what pop music is ACTUALLY good though, since obviously pop music fans will eat up literally anything when there's only some that gives me the instant gratification rush I'm looking for, and sites like RYM don't help much since they're "too cool/smart" to like pop
so anyway here are pop artists I know I like and I know I dislike and if you could send me some artists/albums you think I'd like that would be swell. I tend to like female singers but I'm very open to male singers as well
LIKE: Carly Rae Jepsen, Charli XCX, Alanis Morissette, PC Music/SOPHIE/KKB, Shiina Ringo, Bruno Mars
DISLIKE: Lorde, 99% of Billboard Top 40
pls i spent like a whole 5 minutes writing this
>since obviously pop music fans will eat up literally anything
>DISLIKE: ... 99% of Billboard Top 40

anyways here are some recs. I'm not gonna filter based on "was this on the top 40" because I got over being an elitist a couple years back
chvrches (first album is better), britney spears (just go through her hits, she doesn't really do albums), tove lo, taylor swift, ke$ha, anamanaguchi (specifically "pop it"), cashmere cat (his album "9"), SIBA, grimes (inb4 >grimes), mariah carey, uffie, early jojo, ariana grande
lmk if you like something and I might be able to find more on that vein

well jesus christ just turn in your testicles at the front desk you're clearly done with them
look no further
I usualy like selena gomez' singles. very little of revival feels like filler, and most of the tracks that were clearly meant to never be singles are fun/catchy enough. it is a bit dated (already) but definitely worth a try
Lana Del Rey
