Was there a rock album more ahead of its time than White Light White heat?

WLWH is very influential but its sound became dated really fast
Bananas sound held up long after it's imfluence set in, which makes it a more fitting album for the criteria here

listen to their first album
maybe the first incarnation of electronic music in a pop form, chock full of innovation

It's literally on the album cover.

I agree for the most part, but sister ray predates everything else in the same genre by many years.

I only like the album for "Sister Ray". The rest is just okay.

That's a rhyme, by the way, which is how poets talk

DUDE OUT OF TUNE VIOLA WITH GUITAR STRINGS PLAYING 3 NOTES FOR 9 MINUTES MUSICAL GENIUS LMAO
Yes but this album is the best thing VU ever put out

probably because what would be a time White Light/White Heat represents if not the time it actually came out?
I mean, if you had to guess when it was recorded, I have a hard time thinking I'd guess anything else than late 60's, early 70's

Nothing wrong with being out of tune.

It is ahead of it's time in that many later bands liked what they were doing and tried similar things with a more modern overall vibe due to production and other things. I mean Sister Ray has been ripped off many times more than anything else I can think of. Not to mention that it literally invented a genre that ended up creeping into many other genres.

I think Freak Out! of The Mothers or even Absolutely Free is more ahead than that VUs album
