it was sounding a bit muddy in comparision to the reference so i widened the 250hz cut on the master.

I'd have the bass and vocals in the middle, bass completely dry, the vocals maybe a little bit of reverb, but all completely mono in the centre, acoustic guitar in the left, electric in the right, allowing them to be separate and play off eachother, and just the drums also dry and mono in the centre, and any extra percussion and instruments you can play around with but place them sparsely and creatively in the mix. Also don't saturate the mix to fuck unless it's EDM, it's not the 2000s anymore
