Is XTC an anti-religious group? "Dear God" certainly seems like an anti-religious song, but in "Peter Pumpkinhead", it's mentioned that the hero of the song "empties churches" and "shows the Vatican what gold is for".

No, just listen to Easter Theatre. No non-religious man could come up with that song.

What does this even mean?
Organized religion sucks anyway
You'd have some sharp criticisms of religion too if you grew up in the shadow of The Anglican Church. (Or Church of England as it is also known)

The band is clearly as liberal as it gets, so yes. They have a song called 'Melt the Guns' for chrissake. But those aren't radical statements at all these days.

I don't get how you can read those lines in Peter Pumpkinhead as anything other than anti-religious as well though.
Interesting point btw, Andy Partridge has always thought the lyrics to Dear God were rather weak and missed the mark.

How are so many religious people on 4chan of all places? This board is dead either way.

What does being critical of religion have to do with Reddit in any way, shape, or form?
>>75109177
This too.

it's not the criticism I have a problem with
it's the reddit phrasing of the criticism especially the second one

Being that I've never been on reddit, I have no idea of what you're talking abut. Please explain.
